Background: Asco-Prism Pictures was a merger of Asco Pictures and Prism after they merge together in 1961. It was also a film company. It was founded on 1962. On 1962, the company didn't have a logo until 1963. On 2004, Asco-Prism Pictures shutted down.
1st Logo (1963-1965)
Nicknames: "Blinking Letters", "Blinking Zoom-Out".
Logo: On the black background, we see the word
...zooming out and blinking throughout.
FX/SFX: The zooming out and the blinking.
Music/Sounds: None but on rare prints, an male announcer says "A Film From Asco-Prism Pictures!" with a bombastic fanfare.
Availability: Seen on rare prints of Lucky Diamond, Moon Eye, and Cacaphonus Robin. It surprisingly appeared on Mona And Lisa.
Editor's Note: It's kind of similar to Universal Television's "Blinking Negatives" but applied with the zoom-out, doesn't look similar to Universal Television's "Blinking Negatives". The sudden announcer with a bombastic fanfare on rare prints can unnerve some.
2nd Logo (1965-1968)
Logo: On the time-lapsed footage of clouds, we see the word
ASCO-PRISM
FILM...slowly zooming out.
FX/SFX: The time-lapsed footage and the zooming out.
Music/Sounds: A warbling synth that sounds similar to the "CBS In Color" logo.
Availability: It's unknown where the logo appeared on.
Editor's Note: None.
3rd Logo (1968-1970)
Nicknames: "Triangle Of Doom", "The Triangle".
Logo: On the black background, we see a very zoomed-out triangle, then the triangle zooms in a choppy way and stops before taking up the screen, causing the screen to be inverted. The word "ASCO" appears one-by-one in sync with the music, then the word "-PRISM" appears, followed by "PICTURES" below.
Variants:
- On warped prints, the logo's music is warped and distorted, there are skips throughout the logo.
- A color version exists where the background is blue and the triangle is red.
FX/SFX: The zoom in, the changing and the words appearing.
Music/Sounds: A 2-note trumpet fanfare that ends with a loud, dramatic finish. On rare prints, the logo is silent.
Availability: Seen at the start of films.
Editor's Note: This logo has gained infamy due to its lack of color, darkness, and the animation. The warped variant is only scarier. The color variant might be less scary, though.
4th Logo (1970-1998)
Logo: Superimposed on the end credits, there's the word "FROM ASCO-PRISM PICTURES".
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on The Robot Collapsed!, The Cheese Grater, Big Dreams, Bad Dreams To Good Dreams, etc.
Editor's Note: None.
5th Logo (1998-2004)
Nicknames: "The Aurora", "Gloomy Aurora".
Logo: On the gloomy aurora background, we see the word "ASCO-PRISM PICTURES" fading in.
FX/SFX: The aurora moving and the fading in.
Music/Sounds: None or the opening theme.
Availability: Same as the 3rd logo.
Editor's Note: A logo made in CGI fitting for the 1990s.
Final Note: See the Background section.
