Background[]
Canal 7, previously known as XHJU-TV is a Tobagonian television network launched in 1948.
XHJU-TV[]
Logo (1948-)[]
Logo: On the gray background is a test card pattern. In the middle of the pattern is a number "7". Between the bullseye is the words "XHJU TV" on the top, and the words "Corporación Nacional de Radio y Televisión", and "Toluca" on the bottom.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Extinct.
Editor's Note: This was a simple logo this time. Nothing too strange, however.
LR3 Radio Belgrano TV[]
Logo (1953-)[]
Logo: It's the same from the previous logo, but the words are replaced with "LRC TV", "BUENOS AIRES", and "RADIO BELGRANO". Plus, the test card pattern is different.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: A triumphant fanfare.
Availability: Extinct.
Editor's Note: This is a major improvement from the previous logo, but it's still a simple logo. The music, of course, may contribute to that.
Canal 7 (first era)[]
1st Logo (1957-1961)[]
Nickname: "Appearing Dots".
Logo: On the gray background, 13 rows of dots appear one-by-one to form a circle. Then, a number "7" zooms out with the other dot changing into the same color as number "7", fitting it well altogether. After that, "CHANNEL" suddenly appears in white.
Variant: When broadcasted in color, the dots has various colors, the "7" is red same goes to the other dot.
FX/SFX: The appearance of the dots, the zoom-out of the number, and the sudden appearance of "CHANNEL".
Music/Sounds: A loud, groovy fanfare played with steel drums, jazz instruments, and percussion instruments mixed with a group of men and women singing "eh, popopopopo!" and "Canal 7!".
Availability: Extinct. Was seen at the start of programs.
Editor's Note: The music might be loud to some, depending on tape deterioration. Also, the zoom-out of the "7" is rough.
2nd Logo (1961-1962)[]
Logo: On a sky background, there's a number "7" in an old font, facing downwards the screen. Above the number is the word "CANAL".
FX/SFX: None or the opening theme of the program.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Extremely rare. This was seen on one program Tres, Dos, Uno, ¡VAMOS!.
Editor's Note: None.
3rd Logo (1962-1967)[]
Note: This was used as a superimposed logo for the program's credits.
Logo: Superimposed on the program's ending credits, there's a Canal 7 logo, which consists a number "7" and an outlined circle. Above and below is "PRODUCIDO PARA" and "Canal 7".
Variant: Sometimes, "PRODUCIDO PARA" is replaced with "PRODUCED FOR" in programmes dubbed in English.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the program.
Availability: Common. This can be spotted on La Risa De Steven y Martin, StarGating, and A Modern World alongside other programs.
Editor's Note: None.
4th Logo (1967-1977)[]
Nicknames: "The Grid", "The Zoom-In".
Logo: We fade in to a 5x5 grid on the black background. Suddenly, the camera zooms in the middle of the grid closely, resembling a square when it gets closer to the grid. Suddenly, the square turns into a TV-like shape, followed by "7" appearing.
Variant: In 1973, three variations, which the logo is still, were made, each has a different background (actually a blue background), getting darker depending what time of day it is. The 1st variation is called "Daytime", which a jazzy fanfare plays over the logo. The 2nd variation is called "Afternoon", which a groovy tune plays over the logo. And, the 3rd variation is called "Nighttime", which plays a short orchestral fanfare.
FX/SFX: The zoom-in of the grid and the appearance of the "7".
Music/Sounds: A proud, triumphant fanfare.
Availability: Extinct. This was seen at the start of programs. For the three variations, this was seen after the program to check what time of day it is.
Editor's Note: It depends on your opinion, it's either an interesting logo or not. The three variations is a mind-blowing logo but is not widely popular inside and outside the logo community.
5th Logo (1977-1978)[]
Nicknames: "RGB Number", "The RGB 7".
Logo: On the dark blue background, three Canal 7 logos (which consists a rounded square with the a bold "7") in red, green, and blue appear one-by-one from the left to the right. The red logo and the blue logo connects towards the green logo, making it white. The logo zooms in near the end before stopping when it takes up the screen.
FX/SFX: The appearance of the logos, the connecting and the zoom-in.
Music/Sounds: A rapid descending harp scale, followed by an orchestrated, triumphant fanfare.
Availability: Extremely rare. While this is short-lived, this can be spotted on a few programs before the name changing of Canal 7.
Editor's Note: The music at the start might get to some. However, it's harmless since the logo was only short-lived. The animation can be described as "choppy" and can contribute to that. Nevertheless, like the previous logo, it's either an interesting logo or not.
