ConnorWorks Home Entertainment

Background: ConnorWorks Home Entertainment was the Home Media division of ConnorWorks Entertainment Inc. Launched in 1964. It's very first releases were made to the ConnorWorks VidColor cassette and 16mm home movies(Full Color/Sound only) until being moved on to early Cartrivision and Betamax Tapes starting in 1972

1st Logo (1965-1973 2000-Present[Classics Collection] )

Nicknames:

• Original: "I Thought Magnetic Video was the first HV logo" "Early 60s Saoirse" "Proto-Scanimate ConnorWorks"
• Anti Piracy Variant: "Grumpy Saoirse" "The earliest Anti-Piracy variant" "Something's not right!" “You are a theif!”

Logo: TBA

Variants:

• At the end of releases, it's the same as the opening, but without "Presents" and as the logo fades out, a copyright notice for the preceding ConnorWorks feature appears in a orange chyron font, at the bottom of the copyright notice "This Video was pre-recorded by ConnorWorks Video Corporation Inc, A Division of ConnorWorks Industries" in the same font also appears below the notice.
• On early VidColor tapes, when "ConnorWorks Video Corporation Presents" fades out, the text "A ConnorWorks VidColor Presentation" fades in with "VIDCOLOR" being the 1967-present logo in it's usual colors, this was probably a placeholder for the VidColor intro sequence
• A Black & White version also exists
• In 2002, the logo was revived for the ConnorWorks Classics Collection label. The animation was restored from their original animation CELs, and all goofs have been fixed, the only difference that "Video Corporation" is now replaced with "C L A S S I C S  C O L L E C T I O N". This version also omits "Presents".
• On rare occasions, if a ConnorWorks Vidcolor video cassette is a Pirated copy without a sticker, there is a very chilling version, instead of Saoirse smiling, she has a grumpy expression on her face and crossing her arms. The text is now Red and the background is now black and after a few seconds, it changes to "Piracy is a Crime!" and as the logo fades out, a message appears in the same orange chyron font from the closing variant. This message appears as it follows:
  • The preceding ConnorWorks feature you're watching has been interrupted as this Vidcolor video cassette is missing a hologram sticker, it is a serious crime to copy Vidcolor video cassettes according to the copyright law. Please place the sticker back onto your video cassette.

FX/SFX: Early 60s CEL animation that is also blended with early CGI. 

Music/Sounds: A droning synth chime tune in which becomes a dissonant, ambient-sounding synth theme. The original version was composed by Robert Moog using the Moog Synths. In a later years, it was even synthesized and rearranged. This was redone by Delia Derbyshire, who also arranged the Doctor Who theme. It was remastered with Dolby Digital in 2000 for the ConnorWorks Classics Collection line.

Music/Sounds Variants:

• For the Pirated copy variant, the drowning synth chime tune comes in more heavily as if it was a tense remix of the original tune and the synth ambient theme is now being replaced with a more tense synth jingle with a breathy humming sound which leads to a low creepy fanfare to finish off the logo. When the message appears, we hear faint ambience.

Availability: Seen on early VidColor tapes(Including some early Tom & Jerry Vidcolor tapes and early Doctor Who tapes for the Vidcolor) and some 16mm film digests. It was also revived in 2000 for their ConnorWorks Classics Collection label.

2nd Logo

(1972-1983 2000-Present)

Nicknames: "Videotaped Saoirse in Space" "Saddened Saoirse(Piracy Variant)"

Logo: Same as the 1951-1983 ConnorWorks Entertainment logo, But "Home Video " is used in place of "Entertainment Inc", Also it's videotaped and the background turns white at the end when the logo is formed.

Variants:

• On Some Tapes, The logo is Still.
• At the End of Some releases from the 1980's, We see the already formed logo with the space background moving, But Saoirse leaves instead of the background turning white, Then the text starts to disappear to make room for the Copyright info. This sometimes appears at the start of tapes, but without the copyright info. Early Betamax tapes from 1975 and Cartrivision tapes from 1973 have the Normal variant instead but with the Copyright info below.
• On DVD Or Blu-Ray releases, The DVD Logo Or the Blu-Ray Disc Logo Appears Below
• On some releases, The Logo plays as usual, But "Distributed by" Appears above ConnorWorks,
• Some Tapes have the text "Distributed by" in white bold Arial Black font on a black background before the logo animates. This is regularly seen at the beginning and end of the tapes.
• On the 2003 release of "The Best of Animaniacs Volume 2". After the Logo is formed, Yakko Appears and Bites on the half of the ConnorWorks Text. Saoirse Is not amused.
• On Earlier releases, "Home Video" would be sometimes be replaced with "Video Corporation"
• At the end of their Betamax releases as well as early VHS tapes, after the warning screen, there's a very weird easter egg on there. After said logo ends, the black screen shows for a minute, and then the text appears which says "PLEASE REWIND THIS TAPE" for 30 seconds, and then after that, it fades out, and then it stays there for also a minute, and then a Doctor Who-like tune plays over , and after that, it stays black for 5-10 seconds, and then it cuts to static for a minute or two, and then, the upside down version of the CWHV logo plays with dark synth music playing and the end remains (a la PPI Entertainment), and after it ends, it stays there for almost 10 seconds until cuts to a black screen where Saoirse pops up at the bottom saying "Oh hey there! I've didn't notice you've made it to the very end of the tape. You've kind of expecting something spooky to appear, well not at all! It's just a dark screen with only me all along, until next time... Ciao!" then it cuts to black which may get cut by static for a couple seconds until the tape starts to automatically rewind. It was made as a special Betamax/VHS closing instead of using the White Screen of Death, Black Screen of Death, and Color Bars, etc.
• Rarely enough, like the previous logo, if a VidColor tape, Laserdisc, or VHS/Betamax Cassette is pirated, there is an another chilling version, Saoirse now has a depressed look on her face. Like the previous logo, The text is also Red and after a few seconds, it changes to "Piracy is a serious crime!" and as the logo fades out (except for Saoirse, in which she moves away to the left of the screen in sorrow), a message appears from before, but it has been rewritten in a Light blue color and in a different font. This message appears as it follows:
  • The preceding ConnorWorks feature you're watching has been interrupted as it contains irregular data inside your cassette/videodisc. If you see this screen by accident, try cleaning the cassette/videodisc with a dry rag. But if that doesn't work, please return to your local video retailer and explain to them how they sold a Illegal copy. it is a serious crime to pirate videos according to the copyright law. Music/Sounds Variants:

• On some UK releases, an male announcer says "A world of magic which can be yours to treasure for a lifetime, from ConnorWorks Home Video."
• For the Closing variant, The last half of the opening logo's music, But when Saoirse leaves, The music then gets distorted and winds down ending with a zap. But when the Copyright disclaimer appears, A faint humming noise is heard until it fades.
• Some "ConnorWorks Showcase" VHS Releases use an uplifting piano/orchestra fanfare and a brief bassoon piece when it's complete.
• Some tapes have a male announcer saying "This has been a ConnorWorks Home Video Presentation" after the music finishes 
• For the Pirated copy variant, the music is slowed down and low pitched to sound haunting but when the text turns red, it starts to drop the pitch and when the text changes, we hear an deep echoing loud voiceover shouting "Piracy is a serious crime!!" is heard to finish off the logo. When the message appears, we hear Saoirse(again being voiced by Julie McWhirter) off screen telling viewers about piracy like before as it follows as usual:
  • "Hello! I'm Saoirse! We hoped you watched our product from the ConnorWorks Video Library. And the tape you're trying to watch is Illegitimate. You see, video pirates are real thieves who rampage through the video industry. But not only do these reduce the sound and picture quality of the film, but they may also ruin the fun inside your VCR. To make sure you're watching the genuine product, please make sure that it has the genuine video hologram. If that does not work, return the cassette to your video retailer and explain to them how they sold you an pirated copy. I'm sure they will understand. But if you were the one who pirated this video cassette, you will be down for shame! Piracy is a serious crime, the ConnnorWorks staff would not accept this! For now, please safely eject your video cassette so you can return it and buy yourselves an legal copy. Thank you!

3rd Logo

(1975-1983)

Nicknames: "Vector Saoirse" "ConnorWorks goes Daft Punk," "Vaporwave in the 70s" "The 70s equivelent of the 1983 WDHV logo"

FX/SFX: All the animation in the logo; not too bad for the 70s.

Music/Sounds: A gradually rising new wave theme, with a bassline similar to Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "Relax".

Music/Sounds Variant: In early releases, the 2nd logo's audio is used instead.

Availability: Rare, seen on Vidcolor, VHS, Betamax, CED releases. The first tape to use this is "The Wacky Adventures of Pixeline"

Editor's Notes: The logo is surprising when you first see it. The logo is tamer than the next logo.

4th Logo

(1977-1999 2008-Present)

• Original: "Neon Saoirse" "Scanimate Angelic Saoirse"
• Anti Piracy Variant: "Saoirse from Hell" "Jumpscare Saoirse" "The 80s FNAF Jumpscare" "WRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Logo: On a black background, a glowing neon blue outline of Saoirse, which is different from the previous logo, is lifted up into the air by glowing balls of energy. One of them nearly hits the screen, turning the whole entire thing into a ball of light. One of the sparks from inside the glowing balls of energy pops out and forms the rainbow line which stops the scene inside the rectangle and turns the silhouette version of her into the real one with a glowing blue outline. The background then turns dark blue. As it returns, Sparks from inside of the spark form “ConnorWorks", "H O M E V I D E O” then fades in at the bottom. The Finished Product resembles the 1976-1997 logo,

• A Still Version Exists

• At the End Of Tapes, we see the already formed logo from the opening variant, but in a few seconds, the whole Logo disappears in a shadow effect Leaving a Copyright Notice screen from before fading in on a black background, then fades out to the FBI Warning Screen. Sometimes, It doesn't fade to the Warning Screen,
• On previews at the start of the video, it's the same as the closing, but the copyright notice is replaced with the following:

Like the previous logo, The text is also Red and after a few seconds, it changes to "Piracy is a serious crime!" and as the logo fades out (except for Saoirse, in which lunges up and performs a jump scare with a loud screech at the viewer before crashing into the screen in which cuts off for a few seconds), then a message appears from before, but in red. This message appears as it follows:
  • The preceding ConnorWorks feature you're watching has been interrupted as it contains irregular data inside your cassette/videodisc. If you see this screen by accident, try cleaning the cassette/videodisc with a dry rag. FX/SFX: Typical 80s Scanimate graphics

Music/Sounds: A triumphant synth orchestral theme. There is a long whoosh sound as the ball of light forms as usual.

Music/Sounds Variant:

• The still version is also silent
• For the Closing Variant, ascending chords and descending crescendos that lead into a lab-like tune with zaps and pulses, when the logo disappears, A Whirring noise is heard until we get to the copyright notice screen.
• The warp speed variant has a Loud Explosion noise when Saoirse is formed from a rainbow line
• On some releases, during the formation, An male announcer(Michael Bell) says "From the ConnorWorks Video Library presented by ConnorWorks Home Video!"
• For the Pirated copy variant, the music is distorted and low pitched to sound haunting but when the text turns red, it starts to raise the pitch and when the text changes, we hear an deep booming echoing loud voiceover shouting "YOU..... ARE.... A..... PIRATE!!!!!!" is heard to finish off the logo. And when Saoirse performs a jumpscare, a very loud screech is heard before being cut off. When the message appears, we hear faint ambience.

Editors Notes: The bad scanimate animation and the outline of Saoirse May Cause a few jumps It's worse For the warped variant. Because the faster speed and the music make this logo even scarier. The Closing Variant could raise the Scare Factor even more. The Anti Piracy variant due to the jumpscare could scare any viewer if your copy is pirated even if you try to peel the sticker off. It's decreased For the other Variants.

5th logo (1999-2005 2011-Present)

Nicknames: "CometShock"

Logo :Same As Its 1999-2001 Counterpart, but with “Home Entertainment” Instead of “Entertainment Inc”

Variants:

• Some Tapes Have a Still Version
• On Some Tapes, It's the Same as the opening But with a Copyright Notice Below Fading in below After the logo Is formed. This sometimes appear at the End of tapes.
• At the End of tapes, Again It's the same as the Opening, but the glowing outlines are drawing away making the logo starting to disappear, leaving a copyright notice from before on a black background, then fades out to the FBI Warning Screen
• On some releases, There is a Warp Speed version,
• A Rare Filmed Variant Exists
• Starting in 2007 with the Blu-Ray release of "The New Adventures of Bibi Blocksberg" Volume 1, The logo is given a High Definition look.
• Rarely enough, like the previous logo, if a VidColor tape, VHS Cassette or DVD is pirated, you would get a strange version with the text turned red. Saoirse now has a scared expression as if she was terrified if your copy is pirated. The text glitches itself into "Piracy is a very Serious Crime". Then the screen flickers and disappears like a CRT television turning off, then a message appears from before, but revised in a white color. Under the message, it shows an full colored illustration of Saoirse holding a DVD with a distraught expression. This message appears as it follows like before:
  • You May be a victim of piracy you know, but the reason why that preceding ConnorWorks feature you've been watching has been interrupted as it contains irregular data inside your VHS/DVD. If you see this screen by accident, try cleaning the VHS/DVD. with a dry rag. But if that doesn't work, please return to your local video retailer and explain to them how they sold a Illegal copy. it is a serious crime to pirate videos according to the copyright law. 6th logo

(2005-2017)

Nicknames: "And You thought that the IMAX Tunnel Wasn't Enough" "The Tunnel From Hell", "Slit-ScanWorks Home Entertainment", "I'm Confused, Isn't That IMAX's Logo?" "That Strange logo at the Start and End of their releases" "Saoirse's Tunnel" “2005, A ConnorWorks Odyssey”

Logo: The same as the IMAX "Wormhole", but the flash which replaces the tunnel with an extreme close-up of a blue outline of the ConnorWorks Home Entertainment logo from before, which zooms away from us with a light trail. When the ConnorWorks Home Entertainment logo is at a comfortable distance, the light trail disappears into the logo, which turns into a full colored version. It stays still for a couple of seconds and then zooms in to the top of the screen as the same style as said effect.

Variants:

• An Extended Variant Exists
• A Rare variant, found on the 2005 VHS release of the BBC version of “The Secret Garden” in which the logo quickly accelerates at the point where the tunnel gets intense and quickly decelerates back to the normal speed when the logo forms from a light trail, possibly due to an editing/compression error.

FX/SFX: Same as the IMAX logo. This is clocking at 1 minute 5 second, one second more longer than IMAX's.

Music/Sounds: Slightly different than the IMAX and the Graphic Films Corporation logo, in a way that the sounds are extra deeper and more emphasized. The Deep Note-esque noise at the end is also slightly different.

Availability: Current, Appeared on newer VHS(ended in 2006 until 2010 when they rerelease them under the ConnorWorks FlashBack brand, in which this logo was featured before the previous logos play after that), Blu-Ray Disc, and DVD releases when they are originally presented in IMAX, Strangely, it was shown on the 2017 DVD of "ZeroTown Volumes 1, 2, and 3" despite those not being IMAX Releases. Oddly, when the 2017 logo debuted, the logo was still used as a home video logo on early 2017 releases until the 2017 DVD reprint of "The Best of Bibi Blocksberg Vol 1".

Editors Notes: Depending on the Variant.

• Main Variant: for the same reasons the IMAX logo has, but the weird scheme of the logo and sudden zoom in to the bottom of the screen would definitely raise a bit, especially when watched in releases. The music, always, can be raised again for some, even if you aren't expecting it. It's decreased for those who used to it.

• Extended Variant: The more intense tunnel and the very confusing THX-Like noises could make this variant extremely scarier.

• Warped variant: The sudden fast speed of this logo can get to some, but some might find it funny.

7th Logo

(2016-2021)

Nicknames: TBA

Logo: Same as the 2016-2017 ConnorWorks Entertainment logo, but with “Home Entertainment” Instead of “Entertainment Inc”.

Logo: Exactly like the 2021 counterpart, but with “Home Entertainment” appears in place of “Entertainment Inc”. Also, the framerate is smoother in this version.

• On previews at the start of releases, after the logo is formed, the "ConnorWorks Home Entertainment" wordmark glows and flashes into the following:
