Background: Dead Barney Pictures was an American film and television production company made for horror. Founded in 1997, it was originally known as "Barney the Dinosaur Productions".

Barney the Dinosaur Productions[]

Background: The company was originally known as "Barney the Dinosaur Productions", and was best known for producing Barney’s World. It was originally a subsidiary of Lyrick Studios (then acquired by HIT Entertainment in February 2001 and later folded to the latter in August; HIT was later bought by Apax Partners in March 2005, which sold it to Mattel in February 2012). The company also produced two movies, Barney’s World: The Movie and The Barney Error Movie.

In 2017, the company formed a co-production deal with GoAnimate Television (now Vyond Productions TV) to co-produce The Tow Mater Show (with Howie Mandel).

Editor’s Note: Those who hate Barney may find this logo annoying.

Final Note: In 2026, Barney the Dinosaur Productions was acquired by Horror Holdings, and was renamed to “Dead Barney Pictures”, though its library when it was known as its former name wasn’t included in this acquisition, as they are retained by 9 Story Media Group.
