1st logo

(1987-2001)

Warning Warning: Due to the logo’s extremely gore content. photos and videos will not be seen on site.

Visuals: It takes place at night (from the episode of Jája a Pája in the name, Jak pěstovali jahody), the buildings that are the villages appear on the screen, then the man gets in the house and closes the door. the next scene we see the mountains, and then we see the houses. the next scene shows blood on the ground, along with the knife with blood stain. it cuts to the strawberry garden where the scarecrows were appeared, the scene then cuts to more blood on the ground was shown, and the next scene shows the body laid on the ground while bleeding. then cuts to the scene that shows the house, and again cutting to more blood on the ground was revealed to be the pool of blood while the body of the character was dying, and a close up of the character reveals to be Woody Woodpecker (from the animated short created by Walter Lantz). his one eye was opened until it closes, and dies of blood loss. the next shot shows him laying dead with pool of blood, and the company’s name fades in. the text is in serif font, and the logo stays for last few seconds until it fades out. the red text says “presenteert” fades in the black background, it says like that for a few seconds until it fades out.

Variants:

  • On a closing variant, the still image of Woody Woodpecker laying dead with pool of blood is shown.
  • A rare variant has the extended version.
  • On some few films that had a rare variant, we see Woody Woodpecker getting stabbed to death by some random character (probably Wally Walrus) until the company’s name appears.
  • On the German closing variant, the early version of Woody Woodpecker (from 1940-1942) laying dead with pool of blood is shown on the black background with the company’s name. the German text was shown on top of the screen which means “This has been a…” in German language.

Technique: A Mix of the stop-motion and traditional animation (between Jája a Pája and The Coo Coo Bird).

Audio: The music from the episode Jak pěstovali jahody, the text accompanies the “boo!” sound (from the main characters). this music was composed by the Czech musician Petr Skoumal.

Audio variants:

  • High pitched version exists.
  • On the original and German closing variants, A spooky synth tune, which is taken from the same episode from the said series where three puts stuff back to the scarecrows. Again it was composed by the Czech musician Petr Skoumal.
  • Long version on the extended variant exists.
  • On some few films that had a rare variant, it was a same music from the opening logo but it changes to the closing variant’s music after 34 seconds. it was followed by stabbing sound, and Woody’s scream. it was unknown if Woody was voiced by some random voice actor or not.

Availability: Seen on the Dutch horror movies that was being produced at the time.

Editor’s Note: This logo can be very scary due to graphic nature, music, and the voices. This can upset the Dutch fans of Woody Woodpecker, not to mention how creepy the logo is.

2nd logo

(2001-)

Warning Warning: Due to the logo’s extremely gore content. photos and videos will not be seen on site.

Visuals: We see the character Woody Woodpecker (from the 1999 series of the same name) standing on the white background, Buzz Buzzard then appears on the screen trying to kill Woody. he was being chased by him as he is holding a knife, Woody Woodpecker then gasps in fear. the chase scene went straight to the same background from the series, and Woody stops as Buzz Buzzard stabs him in the chest multiple times. we see him screaming in horror, and collapsing on the ground when he walks away. the next scene cuts to Woody Woodpecker dying on the ground as the blood is poured on the ground, and is seen coughing out blood until he dies. the text reads the company’s name in different font, and in red with black outline. the logo stays for the few seconds, and then it fades to black.

Variants:

  • On a closing variant from 2001-2010, instead of Woody Woodpecker getting killed. Buzz Buzzard ends up getting killed with a knife by Woody Woodpecker, and then returns it to the white background. which has him walking away, and it stayed for a few moments until it fades to black. then the company’s name appeared on the black background.
  • On a rare variant, Woody Woodpecker runs away when Buzz Buzzard loses the victim. causing him to walk away out of the background before the company’s name fades in. which appears on the same background, and it stayed for a few seconds until it fades out.
  • The Extended version exists.
  • On some few closing variants, still standing image of Woody Woodpecker appears with the company’s name below on a white background.
  • On a closing variant from 2010 - current, the still image of Woody Woodpecker laying dead is shown.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: Theme from Woody Woodpecker plays, following with him humming the tune. as Buzz Buzzard arrives, the gasp from the character was heard. then the footsteps accompanies the chase scene while the knife sound was also heard. the music changes to a drone-sounding horror music that sounded like a film’s soundtrack, the tire screech was heard when he stops. the stabbing sound, the screaming, and the splattering were heard when Buzz Buzzard kills Woody Woodpecker, the next horror synth music plays when he collapses on the ground. the coughing sound was heard when he coughs out blood, and dying noises when he dies. the last music plays when it turns into a droning-synth horror music as the logo finishes.

Audio variants

  • On a 2001-2010 closing variant, the stabbing sound was heard when Buzz Buzzard gets killed. It was a same as previous opening logo.
