1st Logo (2000-2002)

Logo: On a White Background, we see the text:

on an italic futuristic font.

FX/SFX: None, it's a still logo.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: On some DVDs with Digital Sound.

Scare Factor: None, this logo is BORING. But it gets worse with the next logo

2nd Logo (2002-2006)

Logo: On a black background, a purple spark flashs by, forming the Digital Sound logo in silver, the purple spark transforms into a purple star on the middle of the logo, seconds later, www.digitalsound.com fades in below, the logo shines, and then, it zooms faster.

FX/SFX: The flashing of the spark, the forming, the fading, the shining and the logo zooming in faster.

Music/Sounds: The sounds of a spark, along with a droning synth chord and a zap sound.

Availability: On any DVDs with Digital Sound.

Scare Factor: High to NIGHTMARE; a lot of people who have seen this logo can't stand it. First-time viewers will be shocked by the purple spark, logo zooming in extremely fast and loud, creepy music. Might be a little less scary for those who are used to seeing it.

3rd Logo (2006-2010)

Logo: We see a bunch of sparks passing by. Then a lot of other yellow and orange sparks come in and fly in all directions, making really colorful composition, and finally folding into the Digital Sound logo looking as a four-lined moebius band. As they fold, metallic words also appear right to the logo, reading "digital SOUND" as same from the 1st logo.

FX/SFX: Everything: the light sparks and logo folding.

Variant: For a Blu-Ray releases, HD mark adds next to "digital SOUND" and byline is "Master Audio".

Music/Sounds:

HD: Majestic piano composition, playing in synth with action and adding several whooshing sounds as the logo folds.

Normal: A compostion made of whooshing sounds, strings and wind chimes, ending with a different note.

Availability: Current on many DVDs with Digital Sound. HD version seen on Blu-Ray movies and on Digital Sound Demo Disc.

Scare Factor: Low to medium, the sudden start can make an effect, but otherwise it's a great logo. However the scare factor rises again with the 4th logo

Dolby Digital/Digital Sound/DTS Hyper Sound System [4th Logo (2010-present)]

Nicknames:

  • "The Double D/Futuristic Words/4-Lined Moebius Band Combo"
  • "Flying Plates"

Logo: On a grey marble background, we see 3 colored plates, flying, 1 is yellow, 2 is purple and 3 is red, they stack eatch other and the 1st plate has the Dolby Digital logo in it, the 2nd plate has the Digital Sound logo in it and the 3rd plate has the DTS logo in it. the plates shine

Variants:

  • The Words "Hyper Sound System" in white is below the red plate.
  • One rare variant, which had a space background, and the big golden words "the HYPER DIGITAL experience" fades in and it dissolves, and the plates appear.

FX/SFX: The flying and the shining.

Music/Sounds: Whooshing and shining sounds.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the rare variant, there are some lazer sounds, machinery sounds and the whole thing ends in a Deep Note sounding whoosh and twinkles.

Availability: Seen on all Dolby/Digital Sound/DTS Hyper Sound DVDs.

Scare Factor: Low to Nightmare for the standard variant, and Medium for the rare variant, All of the fading-in effects, the quick dissolve and the scary sounds will scare More people.
