Revision as of 03:27, 18 December 2021

Background: El TV Kadsre Home Entertainment is the home entertainment division of El TV Kadsre Television Network founded in 1977 to distribute its library independently after its exclusive deal with Magnetic Vlokozu Video had expired.

Standard Variants

1st Logo

(1972-1977)

Nickname: "This is the good way to start a home video logo, ETVK!"

Logo: On the navy blue background, we see the 1964 El TV Kadsre logo in white. The word "AN" is above the logo while the words "CARTRIVISION" and "PRESENTATION" is below the logo. The words are also in white and in Univers font.

Variant: On Flopovision titles, the background's contrast is higher and the words "FLOPOVISION" replaces "CARTRIVISION".

FX/SFX: None

Music/Sounds: None

Availability: Almost extinct. It was seen in Flopovision and Cartrivision titles for El TV Kadsre in that period.

Editor's Note: This is one of the logos that hold a special place in history for being a first home video logo.

2nd Logo
(1977)

Nickname: "El TV Kadsre of the Round Table"

Logo: Against a blue Background, we see the 1964 El TV Kadsre logo. Above the logo, we see a knight on a horse with a castle and a dragon on the hills. Below the logo, we see Home Video in an old English font with prouldly present... on the same font with the sheld and the vines surrounding the logo. The logo appears as it reveals down.

FX/SFX: The logo revealing down.

Trivia: According to Yoko Matsushita, a young Antanico Matsushita created the logo as a school assignment, and it ended up being used as the logo for the division when Tara Matsushita found out about it. Antanico and Tara have confirmed this story to be true.

Music/Sounds: A 12-note synth theme that composed by associate producer John Maxwell Anderson. This was later used in the 1979-1982 T.A.T. Communications Company logo.

Availability: Almost extinct, as it was used as a placeholder logo. Seen on El TV Kadsre Home Video's earliest titles on Betamax and VHS. It made its first appearance on three Magnetic Vlokozu Video titles in early-1977.

Editor's Note: This logo is known for the fanfare that is later used in the TAT logo (which is the rarest logo ever), and it's cheap animation.

3rd Logo
(1977-1979)

El TV Kadsre Home Video Logo (1976-1979)

El_TV_Kadsre_Home_Video_(1978;_w._Warning_screen)

El TV Kadsre Home Video (1978; w. Warning screen)

Logo: On a white background, The words "EL TV KADSRE HOME VIDEO" in blue as seen inflated appears as it wipes horizontally from the center.

Trivia: The logo was made in the huge box with the papers covering the logo and it can be animated by using the winder handle which moves the papers to reveal the logo.

FX/SFX: The wiping from the logo. All CEL animation

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Rare. Seen on El TV Kadsre Home Video releases from 1977 to 1979. Can be seen on Robotman 2, Nova Orbis, Madness Party, Meteor 2010 (aka Ricardo Montalbán Meets the Aliens from Badonk 5), and others. Also seen on the 1978 Vlokozuian VHS release of The Three Stooges Volume 3 with CBS Video.

Editor's Note: None.

6th Logo
(1983-1985)

Nickname: "The Brady Bunch of Logos"

Logo: Three versions are known to exist:

Version 1: We see a red outlined square against a black background. Inside the square, we see the logos of the companies that distributes El TV Kadsre's material around the world. They zoom out to different positions, and then, the logo of El TV Kadsre Home Video animates in the very center of the picture. That logo then zooms in, and we see "VLOKOZU UNION'S LEADING HOME VIDEO DISTRIBUTORS" below it.

Here's the list of logos you'll see and where they zoom out to:

  • Vestron Video - A still picture of the 1982 logo. Zooms out to the top left
  • Visão Vídeo - A still shot of the 1983-1986 Visão Video logo. Zooms out to the top right.
  • Code 82 Corporated - The 1982-1984 Code 82 logo. Zooms out to the bottom left.
  • Rinoshi Video - We see the print logo of Rinoshi Video and there's a pale-blue border surrounding it. This one zooms out to the bottom-right.
  • Matura Video - A still of the Matura Video logo. Zooms out to the bottom-center.
  • El TV Kadsre Films - The 1982 El TV Kadsre Films logo animates as usual. Zooms out to the top center.

  • Star Video (Australia) - The first logo of Star Video animates as usual. Zooms out to the center-left.

Version 2: Same as Version 1, but with different logos in the boxes:

  • Vestron Video - A still picture of the 1982 logo. Zooms out to the top left
  • Walt Disney Home Video - Varies on the tape: some tapes use a still picture of the 1981-1987 WDHV International logo. Zooms out to the top right.
  • El TV Kadsre Films - The 1982 El TV Kadsre Films logo animates as usual. Zooms out to the top center.
  • Allied Artists Video - A still picture of the 1978-1980 Allied Artists Video logo. This one zooms out to the bottom-right.
  • Guild Home Video - A still picture of the 1983-1986 Guild Home Video logo. Zooms out to the bottom-center.
  • BBC Video - The 1980-1988 BBC Video logo's closing variant plays backwards in warp-speed (and with the copyright disclaimer blacked out), and freeze-frames as it's about to fade out (or in if played normally). Zooms out to the top center.
  • Toei (Japan) - The first Toei logo animates as usual. Zooms out to the center-right.
  • Star Video (Australia) - The first logo of Star Video animates as usual. Zooms out to the center-left.

Afterwards, the logo of El TV Kadsre Home Video animates in the very center of the picture. That logo then zooms in, and we see "VLOKOZU UNION'S LEADING HOME VIDEO DISTRIBUTORS" below it.

Version 3: Same as the other two versions, but slightly different:

  • Vestron Video - A still picture of the 1982 logo. Zooms out to the top left
  • Walt Disney Home Video - A picture of the 1981-1987 WDHV International logo. Zooms out to the top right.
  • El TV Kadsre Films - The 1982 El TV Kadsre Films logo animates as usual. Zooms out to the top center.
  • Celebrity Home Entertainment - The 1985 Celebrity Home Entertainment logo animates as usual. This one zooms out to the bottom-right.
  • CBS/Fox Video - A still picture of the 1984-2000 CBS/Fox Video logo. Zooms out to the bottom-center.
  • BBC Video - A portion of the 1980-1988 BBC Video logo's closing variant which freeze-frames as the logo is about to start being "drawn away". Zooms out to the top center.
  • Toei (Japan) - The first Toei logo animates as usual. Zooms out to the center-right.
  • Star Video (Australia) - The second logo of Star Video animates as usual. Zooms out to the center-left.

Afterwards, the logo of El TV Kadsre Home Video animates in the very center of the picture. That logo then zooms in, and we see "VLOKOZU UNION'S LEADING HOME VIDEO DISTRIBUTORS" below it.

FX/SFX: The logos appearing and zooming out.

Variants:

  • Some CBS/Fox releases with Version 3 (namely several of the 1985 releases) have the logo "fly away" to reveal Pete Smith's portion of the Australian variant of the 1982-1983 CBS/Fox Video logo.

Music/Sounds: A funky synth-keyboard disco tune, with chimes. Has an announcer (Christopher Berger) saying "More quality home entertainment from El TV Kadsre Home Video!" before the tune ends.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • Some tapes with Version 2 use a different announcer (Noach Irwin) who says "Check out these releases from El TV Kadsre Home Video, which are available at all good retailers and stockists!"
  • The 1984 El Kadsreian VHS of Shinbone Alley, which uses Version 2 of the logo, has Berger saying Noach's spiel.

Availability: Seen on some home video releases from the company at the time, used in term with the previous logo.

Editor's Note: This might be one of the longest of home video logos the world has ever known, clocking in at just under 50 seconds.

The words "HOME VIDEO" in blue appears from the bottom flying to the logo while it zooms out, joining together.

Variant: There is a variation which, not very common in the Asia, United States, and Latin America but it's very common in Australian, Canada, El Kadsreian Islands, Europe, Japan, New Zealand and UK tapes, sometimes in South Africa. In it, just before the logo settles in place, a white flash is seen, and the logo is now set against a blue background.

If you got an El Kadsreian VHS tape which has this variant, you're lucky.
