Background: El TV Kadsre Television was formed in 1949 as Flower Film Production Television. They’re best known for the soap-opera-drama program called Neighbours, first aired in 1962 and ran until 2003 with 10518 episodes in 41 seasons. Two reunion specials were made after that as well as a 2017 reboot that is still ongoing today.

Flower Film Production Television/Flower Film Productions (First Era)[]

1st logo (1926-1935)

Logo: On the moving cloudy background, we see the flower from the 1910 Flower Film Production logo. Below the flower, We see the words "テレビ" in black which is "Television" in Japanese.

Variant: There are many background variants rather just than the cloud BG. Here is a list of some variants:

  • A grey/white background.
  • A circle pattern background.
  • Finally, a black background.

FX/SFX: The clouds moving, none for the variants.

Music/Sounds: None, opening or ending theme of the show.

Availability: Ultra rare, Seen on old kinetoscope prints from some live shows.

1st Logo
(1951-1964)

Logo: On the black background, we see the words "El Kadsreian Television" in white in Century font. Above the logo, we see the words "This has been a presentation of" in fairly in the same font.

Variants:

  • On colorized prints, the text is yellow and the background is blue
  • This logo rather is in English, Japanese or Spanish.
  • On the first 3 episodes of Neighbours that aired in color, the logo is in the navy blue background and big words saying "PRODUCED IN COLOR" appeared below the logo with the copyright stamp below.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None, opening or ending theme of the show.

Availability: Rare. Was seen on the first season Neighbours and other El Kadsreian Television prints. Found on the complete first season DVD of Neighbours.

Logo: On the black background, we see the formation of the two bars, the left bar moves downwards while the right bar moves upwards. The black bar then tilts and the white bars turn into triangles, forming the EKTV wordmark. The words, "AN" above the love and "PRODUCTION" below the logo appears, followed by the copyright stamp. The logo then fades out.

FX/SFX: The bars and the text appearing.

Music/Sounds: None

Availability: Extremely rare. It was seen on 16mm educational movies and television movies during that period. On the show “The Timbas” from 2000, the logo is in widescreen.

Logo: On the blue background, we see the bold-italic words in red reading "EKTV" inside the yellow box. Below the logo is the text saying "COLOR PRODUCTION" in green and "AN" above the logo.

FX/SFX: None.

Availability: Extremely rare, as it only lasted for 5 months. It can only be seen on early season 2 episodes of Neighbours, as it's seen on the complete second season DVD.

Logo: On the white background, we see the El TV Kadsre Television logo in blue. Below the logo, we the words also in blue saying "A COLOR PRODUCTION", followed by the copyright stamp.

Variant: There is the early variant where the background is blue and the text is grey.

FX/SFX: None

Music/Sounds: None or the ending theme.

Availability: Ultra rare. Seen on later season 2 episodes of Neighbours and several episodes of the first season of The Romanya Chronicles. The early version is extinct, as seen in April to May 1964 episodes of Neighbours, plastered by the later version on current prints.

Logo: On the white background, We see the blue 1964 El TV Kadsre logo appears in letter one-by-one, the words "TELEVISION" in blue appeared after the logo is fully typed.

Variants:

  • On Neighbours Halloween Special, the logo appears in the smoky dark red background and the text is white.
  • Sometimes, the logo appears in black/green twirl background instead of white. Also the text is white again.
  • On Neighbours Abridged, The background is black and the text is red.

FX/SFX: The logo appearing in one-by-one.

Music/Sounds: There are 4 main music variants used in the logo.

  • 1964-1968: A twiddling saxophone/xylophone theme ending in a dramatic jazz stinger
  • 1968-1972: The battling loud bump fanfare.
  • 1972-1973: A series of "glug-glug-glug" sounds with 2 sets of 4 ascending synthesized chimes; the second one is much faster. Is similar to the music used in the Viacom "Pinball" logo.
  • 1973-1979: Same as before, except with a different note.

Music/Sound Variants:

  • On Neighbours Halloween Special, The 1968 fanfare is louder.
  • On Neighbours Abridged, the music is replaced with multiple sci-fi styled gunshots and screaming sound effects.
  • Surprisingly, this logo was revived on the 101 Dalmatians: The Animated Series 6-part special Puppies in Neverland, and featured a very odd synthesized version of the 1964-1968 jingle with an Aphex Twin-style stuttering snare drum after first few notes.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on Neighbours seasons 3 to 17. It was also seen on 7 Little Monsters and the Technic Heroes TV movie Nova Oribis vs. Robotman.

Editor's Note: This logo is favorite to a lot of fans of Neighbours, due to how weird, lazy, and funny it is, especially the Halloween and abridged variants of this logo.

3rd Logo
(1979-1985)

Nickname: "Television in the Box", “Scanimate Television Box” “El TV Kadsre Swoosh”

Logo: On the blue background, the white logo, consisting of the El TV Kadsre logo and the large rectangular box with the words “TELEVISION” in it, emerges from the top right corner and zooms into the middle of the screen, leaving the chyron trail as it does. After the logo zooms, the whole background turns white, while the logo turns multicolored, with “TV” and the “TELEVISION” box turning blue and the words “EL” and “KADSRE” turning black.

Trivia: This logo was produced by New York-based Dolphin Productions and it was one of their last logos they produced before they went defunct on the same year.

FX/SFX: Scanimate effects.

Music/Sounds: A high-pitched synth "whoosh" effect, followed by a synth keyboard-type chime that has a "wow"-like pitch and a echo effect.

Availability: Rare. Seen on El TV Kadsre shows made on that period.

4th Logo
(1985-1989)

Nicknames: "Television in the Box II", "CGI Television Box"

Logo: On the black/blue gradient background, we see the El TV Kadsre logo flying from the bottom of the screen to the middle of the screen while turning 90 degrees clockwise, while the blue box with the words "TELEVISION" flies from the bottom of the screen to the bottom of the El TV Kadsre logo.

Variants:

  • On shows that are joint-productions of El TV Kadsre and Saban, the El TV Kadsre Television logo is seen in the bottom right corner and Saban in the upper left. They are in the grey/black gradient background.
  • On the TV movie Frankie, the El TV Kadsre Television logo is seen in the upper left and Nelvana in the bottom right. They are in the yellow/blue gradient background.
  • On The Playtime Show, the logo is seen in the upper left and Universal Television in the bottom right. They are in the black/red gradient background. On Spanish and Japanese prints, the El TV Kadsre Television logo is in the respective language. For Spanish, the other logo is Televisa, and for Japanese, the other logo is TV Tokyo.
  • On Baby University, the logo has a byline in chalk font reading "A PRODUCTION OF EL TV KADSRE TELEVISION", which zooms in, with a copyright notice.

FX/SFX: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: A second half of the 6th logo of El Kadsre Home Video

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On the final season of The Given Takers, a bombastic Disney-like fanfare is used.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on El TV Kadsre shows from released in that period including Irritating Stick, Turbofighters, Neighbours (later season 24 up until season 27), El Kadsreian prints of the first three seasons of 101 Dalmatians: The Animated Series (not confused with the 1997 series 101 Dalmatians: The Series), the final season of The Given Takers after the El TV Kadsre Animation/Nelvana split screen card, El TV Kadsre's Funniest Home Video Show (Now titled EKFV), The Playtime Show, and the short-lived Monster Meadow. International airings of the 3rd season of The Given Takers animated series use this logo in place of the El TV Kadsre Animation logo on the ETVK Animation/Nelvana card, but as with that logo, this has been removed on the Shout! Factory releases of the show in favor of a Viva Television logo.

Logo: Same as the shortened version of El TV Kadsre Films except for the words "FILMS" is removed and "TELEVISION" appears in the box below the logo.

Variants:

  • In shorts, like Metus' Revenge, The blue text, "An" appears on the top of the logo and "Short" appears on the bottom of the logo. Also, there's no blue television box.
  • In television movies made by El TV Kadsre, the television box is replaced by the text saying "Television Film Production Present".

FX/SFX: Same as the short version of its film counterpart.

Music/Sounds: Same as the short version of its film counterpart except the single note is low pitched.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • In shorts and telefilms, the logo sounds the exact same as the short version of its film counterpart.
  • Early episodes of Superaction! and the first six episodes of Warriors: The Animated Series used the same Puppies in Neverland music variant from the 2nd logo.

Availability: Very common. Can be seen on every El TV Kadsre television movie and show from that period, notably Neighbours (the final original run seasons), Nexo Knights, later episodes of Turbofighters, Emergency Room, El Kadsreian prints of 101 Dalmatians: The Animated Series starting with Season 4, and others. The logo made it’s first appearance on the 101 Dalmatians: The Animated Series Season 4 premiere The Curse of Cruella De Vil.

Final Note: Although live-action shows discontinued this logo in 2003, some El TV Kadsre Animation shows continued to use this logo until 2008.

6th Logo

(2000)

Logo: We see shots of Joshua von Schweetz (the star of Schweetzman) with the El TV Kadsre Television logo appearing on his face. A copyright date appears below.

FX/SFX: The sliding of the shots

Music/Sounds: The closing theme to the show.

Availability: Only found on the El Kadsreian episodes of the sketch comedy series Schweetzman.

7th Logo
(2003-2017)

Logo: Same as the shortened version of El TV Kadsre Films except for the words "TELEVISION" replace "FILMS"

FX/SFX: Same as the short version of its film counterpart.

Music/Sounds: Same as the short version of its film counterpart.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the reunion specials of Neighbours, the 1964-1968 music from the 2nd logo is used.
