Trivia: In 1961, as the part of the 10th anniversary of El Kadsreian Television, the company recovered the flower and becomes the emblem. In 1982, there is only one attempt to change El TV Kadsre Films to Flower Films, which may was an part of the resurrection of Flower Film Production, which never happened, but it is seen in the promotional booklet of Quest for the Masks 2. And in 2016, El TV Kadsre finally uses the flower for the newly-formed production distributor called "Flower Classic Collection" which re-releases El TV Kadsre's movies that were released from 1932 to 1999.

  • There is the color variant, mostly seen in later films. In it, The sky is blue, "尖端島映画" is in green and "プレゼン" is in red.
  • There is a animated version where "尖端島映画" zooms into the screen and "プレゼン" fades in.

It was seen on re-runs of old Sentan Island Films prints on El TV Kadsre 4. The animated version is seen in earlier titles and was recently spotted on an old VHS print of Goasts in the Dark Closets.

Editor's Note: None.

El Kadsreian Films

Background: In 1951, the Matsushita family was forced by the newly-formed El Kadsreian government to change the name of the company from “Sentan Island Films” to “El Kadsreian Films”. The another reason for the name change is the opening of the TV station, El Kadsreian Television (now El TV Kadsre 1). It replaced Sentan Island Films.

1st Logo

(August 7, 1951-October 28, 1963)

Logo: On a white background, the letter "E" in Century font appears in white. The screen changes to the negatives making the "E" black and the background white. The "E" pans to the left and changes back to the original colors. On the right, "l Kadsreian Films" on the same font are typed.

  • In English prints, The words "ENGLISH PRODUCTION PRESENT" fades in after the logo is typed
  • In Color prints, the logo flashes black and sky blue instead of black and white.

Variant: In the widescreen releases, the shapes are all rounded rectangles and all stretched out.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening's theme.

Availability: Near extinction, due to its chronic plastering and but not least, the shortest-lived logo that El TV Kadsre used. It was only used in four films, which are Liomanca, EEK Shooters, Kill a Dragon for God Sake and Hiru's Restaunt. three of them were plastered neither El TV Kadsre Films 1st or 3rd logo. It was most recently seen on EEK Shooters on Ch 2.

Editor's Note: Even though it was short-lived, because it was likely used as a placeholder logo until the company changed it’s name, this is a very interesting (and colorful) logo nonetheless.

El TV Kadsre Films

Background: In 1964, El Kadsreian Films was renamed into El TV Kadsre Films by German-Polish cinema pioneer, Beat Auer (1917-2012) under the authorisation from the then-CEO Isamu Matsushita (1912-2015) as part of the formation of El TV Kadsre. El TV Kadsre Films begin to decline in the 1970s and in 1979, ETVK was on the verge of bankruptcy, only to be acquired by Vlokozuian Media Union. The decline continued until 1981, the year Quest for the Masks is released becoming a commercial success and the year the Romano Family Quartet franchise begun, also a commercial success. In 1987, El TV Kadsre Films was sold by the Vlokozuian Media Union to MCA, El TV Kadsre remained the subsidiary of MCA until 1996, when MCA sold the company back to the Matsushita family, who they own the company to its day. The only franchise not financially affected by the huge 1987 economic crash of El Kadsreian cinema was the Romano Family Quartet franchise, yet their films at the time were box-office bombs.

1st Logo

El_TV_Kadsre_Films_Logo_(1964-1968)

El TV Kadsre Films Logo (1964-1968)

Logo: On the black background, numerous different-colored copies of the text saying "EL TV KADSRE FILMS" zooms out, with one going on top of another until it turns blue. Then the text "PRESENTS" in Helvetica in white forms in the bottom right. After four seconds, "PRESENTS" fades out, with the logo zooming back out and fading out.

Variant: Sometimes, the logo fades in and out.

FX/SFX: The zooming in of the logo, the text trailing and dissolving and animation playing in reverse

Music/Sounds: A wind chime sound effect when the logo zoom in, silence when the text appears and another wind chime sound when the logo zoom out.

Availability: Uncommon, Seen on all films by El TV Kadsre Films from 1964 to 1968. It was mostly seen on old VHS tapes and DVDs. And some movies were plastered with the 3rd logo or the 4th logo. It was seen on re-runs of El Kadsreian Films prints on El TV Kadsre 4. Its last theatrical appearence is at the end of The Breed Possessed.

Editor's Note: None.

El TV Kadsre Films Logo (1968-1970)

El_TV_Kadsre_Films_Logo_(1970-1972)

El TV Kadsre Films Logo (1970-1972)

Nicknames: "V of Doom's Cousin from El Kadsre", "El TV Kadsre of Doom", "Smoky El TV Kadsre"

Logo: We see the smoky dark red background. Several seconds later, the 1964 El TV Kadsre logo in white zooms into the screen. As the background slowly turns blue, the logo zooms out from the right and then "FILMS" in white appears in the right and "The Division of El TV Kadsre Television Network" appears below.

Variant: From 1970 onwards, the first four seconds of the logo was cut off.

FX/SFX: The zooming and smoke effects.

Music/Sounds: From 1968 to 1970, It used a loud rather ominous fanfare that grows more and more dramatic with. three violin/timpani stabs play in sync with the animations at the end. From 1970 onwards, it used a dramatic orchestral opener that grows more dramatic.

Music/Sounds Trivia: The 1968 version was composed by Hiro Yamada (brother of Ryota Yamada) and the El Kadsre City Symphonic Orchestra. It was recorded by Yamada and El TV Kadsre sound technician Art Kloppers on a two tape recorders to create the final mix: a smaller Philips EL3312 cassette tape recorder and a bigger Wollensak reel-to-reel tape recorder. The restored version of the 1968 fanfare (which was created from the original masters, of which Ryota had preserved well) is available on the 2005 album Hiro Yamada: Ryota's Brother from Creekwood Records. The later 1970 fanfare was composed by Hiro and Ryota and was also recorded by the El Kadsre City Symphonic Orchestra, and is also available on the same album in a restored version.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • Sometimes it is silent.
  • On El Kadsreian prints of The Aristocats, a dramatic music piece composed by Yoko Carlsen was used. It actually fits the logo very well, especially compared to the other two music versions of the logo. This fanfare was deleted on the Magnetic Vlokozuian Video release of the film however, due to the target audience being family, making the logo silent. The logo in other prints of the film does get the logo plastered for the same reason. This fanfare surprisingly survives on El TV Kadsre 4 airings of the film.

Availability: Extremely rare for the 1968 version. Most films who had this version are plastered with the 3rd logo since El TV Kadsre received complaints that this was too scary for kids and unfitting for more quiet films due to its bombastic nature. The logo made its first appearance at the beginning of The Breed Possessed. The 1970 version is rare and is more easy to come by than the 1968 version. So far, the logo is seen in laserdiscs, VHS of films during the peroid and seen on Cosmic on DVD and Blu-ray. El TV Kadsre 4 rerun most movies who had this logo, but it’s unfortunately plastered, though some films still have it intact, like The Aristocats (the one with a different fanfare, unlike other films that have this logo).

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo

(May 23, 1972-January 4, 1979)

El_TV_Kadsre_Films_(1972-1979)

El TV Kadsre Films (1972-1979)

Nicknames: "Vlokozuian Bullseye Rings", "El TV Kadsre's Looney Tunes", "The Bullseye Rings Lights Up"

Logo: The 1964 El TV Kadsre Films logo in black starts appearing on the black background in four segments, outlined in red circular lines, which looks like the Looney Tunes bullseye rings zoomed and panned to bottom left. After the bullseye rings is formed and the logo is completely revealed, the logo's outline glows white while it turns blue. After that, "THE DIVISION OF EL TV KADSRE TELEVISION NETWORK" in blue fades in below the logo while it flashes and shines.

Variants:

  • There is an extended version of the logo. After the logo shines, the logo sparkles.
  • In telefilms, the background is extended and "AN" and "TELEFILM" replaced the byline.
  • There is one variant where the bullseye rings are darker.
  • There is a variant without the byline.
  • In Soviet releases, the logo freezes after the logo fades to blue and the words in sky blue "Производится в УВС" (which translates to "Produced in UVS") appears below the logo.

FX/SFX: The logo appearing in segments, the outline, and the fade in of the El TV Kadsre Television Network byline.

Music/Sounds:

  • 1972-1974: Same as a 2nd logo
  • 1974-1979: None

Availability: Common. Seen on all films by El TV Kadsre Films during that period. The bylineless version is seen in plasters of the 1st logo. It can be seen on films like Warning: 1999, Easter of Chaos, Meteor 2010, Beauty Reaper, and the first three Technic Heroes movies, which are Robotman, Robotman 2 and Nova Orbis. It is also spotted on the El Kadsreian prints of several films from Walt Disney Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and Universal Pictures released during the time. It was last seen in the European and Australian releases of Nova Orbis.

Editor's Note: An interesting concept and also being less scarier compared to the previous logo.

El TV Kadsre Films Logo (1979-1982)

El_TV_Kadsre_Films_Logo_(1987-1989)

El TV Kadsre Films Logo (1987-1989)

Nicknames: "Simplified El TV Kadsre"

Logo: We see the words "EL KADSRE" in white fading into the black background. Five seconds later, "TV FILMS" in blue fades in while "TV" appears between the logo and "FILMS" appears the right side of the logo. At the same time, the byline saying "THE DIVISION OF EL TV KADSRE TELEVISION NETWORK" appears underneath the newly-formed 1979 El TV Kadsre Films logo.

Trivia: This logo was designed by Katashi Murdock.

Variants:

  • Starting in 1986, the byline is in ITC Avant Garde instead of Helvetica.
  • Starting in 1987, the byline reads "AN MCA COMPANY".
  • There is another closing variant. The normal animation is played but "DISTRIBUTED BY" appears above the logo.
  • In telefilms, "PRESENTS" replaces the byline.
  • The variant with the MCA byline exists.
  • On reissues of their films, the words "RE-RELEASED BY" appears above the logo.
  • There is the variant appeared at the end of Bionicle V: Web of Shadows, in it, the logo animates as normal. Eight seconds later, the logo cuts to the close up of a Visorak, complete with its screeching noise and buzzsaw mouth. This variant was later plastered on most prints by the normal variant due to complaints from audiences, and Sung Gim has also blamed the existence of the variant on her having a hangover during the scriptwriting process.
  • On a Greek MTC Video print of Bionicle V: Web of Shadows, the Visorak variant cuts off as the Visorak appears.
  • On the movies in the Romano Family Quartet franchise that used this logo, the "TV" and "FILMS" are red.

FX/SFX: Just the fading then the another fading into view.

Music/Sounds: Depending on the version:

  • 1979-1987: None or the film's opening theme.
  • 1986-1989: A low bass sound, followed by a jet engine-like "swoosh" and a single note

Availability: Very common. Seen on all films by El TV Kadsre films during the period and made its final appearance at the end of Bionicle IX: The Legend Reborn (which uses the 7th logo at the beginning). From 1982 to 1987, the logo remained intact in drama, crime and horror films during the period. It was also seen on the Australian release of Bionicle IX: The Legend Reborn. It was also appeared on the American release of Nova Orbis. It was mostly seen on reruns of movies on El TV Kadsre 4. Also appeared on the El Kadsreian prints of several films from Walt Disney Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and Universal Pictures released during the time.

Editor's Note: While not as memorable as the 7th logo, it’s still has its fans.

5th Logo

(June 15, 1981-1982)

El_TV_Kadsre_Films_(1981-1982)

El TV Kadsre Films (1981-1982)

Nickname: "That Logo Before Romano Family Quartet", "Trailing El TV Kadsre"

Logo: On a black background, we see the outline of the 1979 El TV Kadsre Films logo. It trails from the bottom of the screen and zooms out to the center of the screen where it flashes. The logo is now filled with "TV" and "FILMS" in blue. The byline "THE DIVISION OF EL TV KADSRE TELEVISION NETWORK) in Helvetica font fades in below the logo.

FX/SFX: The trailing, the flashing and the fading of the byline.

Music/Sounds: Just some quiet whooshing sounds and the thunder sound when it flashes.

Availability: Only found on two movies: Romano Family Quartet and the El Kadsreian release of The Fox and the Hound.

Editor's Note: This logo is possibly a prototype of the next logo seen below.

Toei_(1986)

Toei (1986)

Nicknames: "The Starfield", "El TV Kadsre in Space"

Logo: We see the animated starfield background. After the moment, the glowing and trailing 1979 El TV Kadsre Films logo coming from the top flies into the center. Then the logo explosively flashes, bursting it into the white background. And after it was done, it went back to the starfield background and El TV Kadsre Films logo is formed with the byline while the glowing horizontal lines placed in the middle of the logo.

Trivia: This logo was animated by El TV Kadsre Films’ Visual Effects Department (now El TV Kadsre Imageworks), its in-house visual effects division.

Variant:

  • Starting in 1986, the starfield is different, the outlines are fatter. When the logo is formed, it was noticed that the horizontal lines are removed, it glows darker, and the byline is in different font.
  • On French prints of Bionicle VI: Island of Doom and Bionicle VII: Sea of Darkness, it has "une production de" chryoned above the El TV Kadsre text due to the Cannon France variant of the Cannon Films logo usually preceding it, and the byline is chryoned over with the translated byline of "Une division du El TV Kadsre Television Network".
  • On Russian prints, the words "Произведено в УВС", which translates to "Produced in UVS", would appear at the bottom of the logo.
  • Some foreign dubs of certain films translate the byline as well: the original Castilian Spanish prints of the first few Bionicle films have it in Spanish.
  • Films from Universal, 20th Century Fox and Disney distributed by El TV Kadsre Films has "Released By" appearing at the top of the logo.

FX/SFX: Moving starfield background, trailing logo moving into center and the flashing.

Music/Sounds: The low synth sound with random synth noises, the guitar riff when flashes and more synth noises when the logo is formed, whch is a abridged version of the "El TV Kadsre Theme" composed by The Reds.

Music/Sounds Variant: In Bionicle VII: Sea of Darkness: The logo would start playing almost through the ending of the 1987 Miramax Films logo.

Music/Sounds Trivia: The music used in the logo is also used in the 1986 film Manhunter.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on all action, family, adventure and comedy films produced by El TV Kadsre Films during that period and seen on every Technic Heroes films from Quest for the Masks 2 (the first film to use this logo) to Bionicle VII: Sea of Darkness (witch is also the last film to use this logo). Also spotted on films distributed in El Kadsre by El TV Kadsre Films during the time such as various Disney films.

Editor's Note: The flash may get a few, but it’s otherwise fine for what it is. Like the 4th logo, it has it’s fans, but it’s not as popular as the next logo is, and be repaired for that logo because it is considered their best logo and it is a notorious example of the 1980s-style logo.

7th Logo

(July 24, 1989-September 23, 2003)

1989_El_TV_Kadsre_Films_Logo_Combo

1989 El TV Kadsre Films Logo Combo

Nickname: "El TV Kadsre Swoosh"

Logo: Over the grey gradient background, we see the giant pattern of white crystallized "EL KADSRE"s. The pattern smoothly merges together to form one minimum-sized "EL KADSRE" as it zooms out. A streak of light glides by to slash the logo, leaving the words "TV FILMS" in blue. Then the byline saying "The Division of El TV Kadsre Television Network" fades in underneath the logo.

Trivia: This logo is done by CiGiWOW, the same company who made some CGI effects and creating "Fenrakk/Kardas" from Bionicle VI: Island of Doom and Click from Bionicle IX: The Legend Reborn. This logo was mocked on one of the El Kadsreian Schweetzman episodes, with the byline now reading "WE CAN'T DO GRAMMAR RIGHT", referencing "The Division" rather than "A Division" in the byline (a byproduct of speakers of El Kadsreian English tending to replace "A" with "The" or "An" in sentences).

Variants:

  • The shortened variant exists, appearing nearly all telefilms, shorts and video games, starting from the point where the logo has already merged from the giant pattern.
  • Until 1996, From Bionicle IX: The Legend Reborn to Bionicle: The Next Generation, the byline reads "An MCA Company" (although at the time El TV Kadsre was owned by MCA) and El TV Kadsre MCA Communications, Co. preceded this logo.
  • In CiGiWOW Showreel '90, the logo animates at the smoother rate.
  • On French prints of Bionicle IX: The Legend Reborn and early Hero Factory films (from Rise of the Rookies to Brain Attack), it has "une production de" chryoned above the El TV Kadsre text due to the Cannon France variant of the Cannon Films logo usually preceding it, and the byline is chryoned over with the translated byline of "Une division du El TV Kadsre Television Network".
  • In Technic Heroes movies starting with Nova Orbis 3: Crackdown, the logo forms as usual, and then the logo spins, revealing the Technic Heroes logo from the behind while the background fades to black. Few seconds later, the logo becomes charged with lighting bolts and flashes.
  • At the end of 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch’s London Adventure, the logo plays normally, but at the end, we see the puppies from the film coming out of nowhere and crushing the text, but after that, the puppies disappear, and then a few seconds later, it then fades out. It’s only seen on the lost original uncut El Kadsreian version of the film. This variant is however found on a 2002 demo reel for El TV Kadsre.
  • At the end of Y2K: Romano Family Quartet, the logo glitches like crazy (possibly a reference to the Y2K bug), showing graffiti and pixel art variants of the logo, as well as past incarnations of the El TV Kadsre Films branding.
  • At the end of earlier films that have this logo, it’s still.
  • Films from Universal, 20th Century Fox and Disney distributed by El TV Kadsre Films has "Released By" appearing at the top of the logo.

FX/SFX: The merging and zooming of the logo and the slashing. CGI effects.

Music/Sounds:

  • 1989-2001: Same as the 1987 version of the 4th logo.
  • 2001-2003: A rising synth note not unlike THX's Deep Note, followed by a "shining" sound effect when the slash reveals the rest of the logo, then a piano chord and a choir.

Availability: Very common. It was all seen in films by El TV Kadsre Films. Although it plasters mostly of the 3rd, 4th and 6th logos during the 1990s. Their first appearance is the El Kadsreian release of Bionicle IX: The Legend Reborn. and the first main appearance without the MCA byline is The Maze. It was appeared in reruns in films on El TV Kadsre 4. It also appeared on the El Kadsreian releases of various Disney, Universal and 20th Century Fox films released during this time.

Editor's Note: This logo is definitely a favorite for those who grew up in El Kadsre in the 1990s.

8th Logo

(1995-1997)

El_TV_Kadsre_Films_(1995-1997)

El TV Kadsre Films (1995-1997)

Nicknames: "It's a IMAX Experience", "The Filmstrip Wheel", "DTS Rip-off", "Filmreel of Doom"

Logo: We start on the black background, where all of the sudden, a giant cyan filmstrip wheel, zooms out from the side and turns 90 degrees to the right. The blue words in Brush Script MT font "It's a " then flies from the bottom then zooms close then moves back. The IMAX wordmark does the same, followed by the word "Experience". The logo then explodes into various particles, forming the 1979 El TV Kadsre Films logo. The logo glows as the byline reading "The Division of El TV Kadsre Television Network" appears below the logo. The text "PRESENTS TO YOU AN IMAX PRESENTATION" in Eurostile Bold Extended font flies from the bottom and lands below the byline.

FX/SFX: The filmstrip wheel zooming out at us, the individual words followed by the dissolving, the appearance of the logo and the text zooming out.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 1st tralier of DTS except it is low pitched at -4 (according to the Realtek HD Audio Manager)

Availability: Extinct. It was only used in IMAX theaters from 1995 to 1997, after El TV Kadsre received parent complaints that the logo is too loud and scary for children and unfitting for quiet films due to its bombastic nature.

Editor's Note: This logo is known for its infamously overdramatic soundtrack and in-your-face computer animation.

9th Logo

(September 23, 2003-April 1, 2017)

Nicknames: "El TV Kadsre Aurora"

Logo: On the black background, a few bright flashes occur at the bottom. Then, 1979 El TV Kadsre Films logo zooms out one-by-one, all white flash continues to occur. Then the logo zooms out. The flash dies down then the byline reading "The Division of El TV Kadsre Television Network" fades in below the logo.

Variant: On Technic Heroes films, the 1986 Technic Heroes logo appears after the final flash of light.

FX/SFX: The flash and the zooming words.

Music/Sounds:

  • 2003-2011: A series of calm synth noises with the 4-note piano tune in-between.
  • 2011-2017: A calming bell tune which then evolves into a majestic fanfare.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the El Kadsreian print of The Magic Roundabout / Doogal, the opening theme of the movie plays right after the logo's music.

Availability: Very common. Seen in releases of movies made by El TV Kadsre Films in El Kadsre and also in Australia, Eastern Asia, Europe, South Africa and even America starting in 2006, replacing the 4th logo from 2003 to 2017. The Technic Heroes variant, however only seen in films in the Technic Heroes universe since 2004. It sometimes plasters the older logos. It also appeared on the El Kadsreian releases of various Disney, Universal, Lionsgate, Pathé, MGM, StudioCanal and 20th Century Fox films released during this time.

Editor's Note: Not as popular as the 7th logo, but once again, still has it’s fans.

10th Logo

(April 1, 2017-June 4, 2017)

Nicknames: "Simplified El TV Kadsre II", "That Logo Seen Before The Diary"

Logo: On a black background, a 3D "eL" flies into the background from the bottom as it rotates towards the camera, afterwards, a 3D blue "TV" flies in from the top, rotating towards the camera as well, where right before its animation finishes, a white and 2D "KaDSRe" flies in from the bottom next to 'TV'. After a short period of time, "fiLMS" appears via sliding transition. Shortly thereafter, a byline reading "In Division of El TV Kadsre Television Network" fades in below.

Trivia: This logo was designed by minimalist animator Ray Peterson, who would later go on to create the Vanbutan animated web-comedy P.R.D.: Don't Doubt On It.

FX/SFX: Simple CGI mixed with 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: 5 whooshes, a crystallized hum, then several synth bell notes and timpani hits.

Music/Sounds Trivia: The hum is a sound effect called "Frosty", from Spectrasonics' Distorted Reality 1 sample CD. The sound effect is also heard in the 2002 First Channel logo.

Availability: This logo only appeared The Diary, as movies following The Diary use the next and current logo, which, no offense, is surprisingly better than this.

Editor's Note: The logo is simplistic. After all, it was used as a placeholder for the next logo.

11th Logo

(June 4, 2017-)

Nicknames: "El TV Kadsre in Space II", "Return to The Starfield"

Logo: We hover through space. Few seconds later we fade out before fading to the another space background, this time with the sun in the background. We fade out again and then as we fade into the yet another space background, the metallic letters fly from the camera and form the El TV Kadsre Films logo, with the sub flashing below it. The logo fades into black while the logo becomes white and blue. The byline “The Division of El TV Kadsre Television Network” fades below it.

Variant: A special 110th anniversary version exists, where after the logo fades into 2D, the text slides up, revealing text saying, "Celebrating 110 Years", with 'Celebrating' & 'Years' in white, while '11' is in blue and the Flower Film Productions logo is in place of the '0'. Afterwards, text on the left and right sides slide in saying, "1910" and "2020" respectively.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 10th logo, except that it’s more bombastic there’s Morse code in the background.

Availability: Very common. Currently seen on movies distributed by the company beginning with Lana X7: The Phalers. The 110th anniversary variant was only seen on the company's YouTube and VidSpace channels and only made its film appearance in Devils & Angels.

Editor's Note: The CGI is very impressive, and this logo is considered to be a great spiritual successor to the 1982 logo.
