Background: This is the production company of actor and executive producer John Watson (hence the name “Johnny”) and now retired director Lyndia Leon Jr. Leon Jr. also owned her company, Leonicholasafilms (the name mentioning Leon Jr.’s father, Nicholas), and Watson originally owned his own two companies, Watson Stew Productions (made 1 special, 7 shows, 19 films), and Leon/Watson (also a joint company between Leon Jr. and Watson). Here’s Johnny Studios entered into an overall deal with Sony Pictures after the success of the company’s longest-running sitcom, The Davids.
First Logo (May 16-October 9, 2006; January 13, 2007; October 3, 2007-July 26, 2009; September 22, 2009; January 1, 2011-March 9, 2013)[]
We see a backdrop of a picture of Watson as a teenager holding a knife with text in the bottom-right saying “Here’s Johnny” (perhaps referencing the Here’s Johnny scene from the 1980 movie The Shining) in font used in SpongeBob SquarePants.
Music/SFX: Either if it’s a silent logo or a closing theme of a show or special playing over the logo.
Variants:
- Starting in 2007, the logo is set in a happy, colorful animated background with trees. Fisheye effects are seen.
- Starting in 2009, the logo centers on as Watson becomes dressed as a no-blood adult killer.
Availability: Seen on the short-lived shows In-the-Out Dad and 45 Skull Bellevue. Also seen on the Fox 2007 special Matthew and Co. Don’t expect to see this logo on the company’s film library from 2006 to 2008. Also seen on Sophie & Her Family, starting with episode 3 of season 2 (replacing the former logo of Leon/Watson, which only appeared on Season 1 and 2 episodes of Season 2) and Dan Vs. The logo made its direct-to-video movie debut on The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (directed by Leon Jr.)
Second Logo (August 2, 2010-)[]
We see a “Here’s” appearing. After that, the “Johnny” and “Studios” appear.
Music/SFX: Every different SFX albeit a variant on either different episodes or movies. The silent variant only appears on Robby Bellybutton: Raunchy Puncher and the Comedy Jokesters 2015 revival.
Variants:
- A shortened variant exists and it only appears on the company’s TV shows.
- A still version also exists. It appears on the end of a few movies, with that variant appearing most recently on the company’s shows nowadays, like Agent Elvis.
- A 21:9 version exists. It appears on most shows from the company onwards.
- Starting in 2019, the logo began to appear as a still on the start of most movies. Different SFX is heard when it appears or disappears.
- Sometimes, it shares the screen with other logos.
Availability: This logo was first seen on the end of Robby Bellybutton: Raunchy Puncher. It’s seen on every production onwards. Starting from Season 11, the logo also appears on Cyberchase (mostly because of John Watson’s popular voice acting in the show), and on Hunger Team Giant Squad, starting from its tenth and final season.
