Background: ICHC Home Video was a video distribution company that distributes some ICHC movies and TV shows. It was founded in 1984. In 1998, they started making DVDs; in 2006, they stopped making VHSes. As of 2017, the company is still active as ICHC Home Entertainment and makes DVDs, Blu-rays, 3D Blu-rays, and 4K Blu-rays.

1st Logo (1984-1987)[]

Nicknames: "Happycat", "The MGM Ripoff"

Logo: We see, on a black background, the MGM ribbons, but with Leo replaced with Happycat, with ICHC HOME VIDEO above, and the byline "A DIVISION OF PEPSICO INC." below.

FX/SFX: None. This is a still logo.

Music/Sounds: The MGM lion's roar.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on some VHS releases of some videos from the era.

Editor's Note: This was meant to be funny, though the roar can get to some people.

2nd Logo (1987-1992)[]

Nicknames: "Happycat II", "The Starfield of Death", "That Scary Logo at the Beginning of Some ICHC Videos"

Logo: On a black background, these stars explode (like Big Bang) to reveal the starfield background. Then, the ICHC "MGM Ripoff" logo comes out of nowhere and the words "ICHC HOME VIDEO" in green and Eurostile-like font flies like the "MGM Ripoff" does to finish the logo. We zoom in the finished logo, and the starfield background zooms in high-speed (a la Star Gate sequence from 2001: A Space Odyssey). Then, we zoom in to the warning screen.

FX/SFX: Early CGI, similar to the animation used by many ITV franchises at the time.

Music/Sounds: A bombastic fanfare with swooshes and a explosion.

Music/Sounds Trivia: The music in this logo is heard at the beginning of The Core, in 2003.

Availability: Common. Seen on some videos by the company.

Editor's Note: The CGI of this logo is still good to this day, but the starfield zooming in faster and the bombastic fanfare will give bad dreams on some people, but those who are fans of Happycat may find this logo to be good instead of scary.

3rd Logo (1992-1995)[]

Nicknames: "Blatant Use of the FADYO Fanfare", "Happycat III"

Logo: Same as the 2003 FADYO logo, but both globes are replaced by Happycat's head, the red dot replacing the globe is removed, the outlined circle and semicircle are replaced by the MGM ribbons, "FADYO" reads "ICHC", and "Presents" reads "HOME VIDEO".

FX/SFX: Everything.

Music/Sounds: The blatant use of the 1967 Apple Films music.

Availability: Ultra common. Seen on some videos of the era.

Editor's Note: This is a very cheap logo, they stole the animation on the 1990 Universal Pictures logo and steal the music from the Apple Films logo from 1967, this also has very cheap animation, so this will definitely give you a chuckle.

4th Logo (1995-1999)[]

Nicknames: "The Egyptian General Organization for Cinema and Television Rip-Off!", "That Kittenolivian Logo Stole The Egyptian Logo", "The Kittenolivian Response to IVT Films", "That Stolen Logo Animation At The Beginning of Some ICHC Videos"

Logo: Same as the 1960's-1970's Egyptian General Organization for Cinema and Television logo, but the outlined torch is replaced by Happycat's head, the stars are replaced by the MGM ribbons, and when the Happycat head stops zooming out and the ribbons stop spinning around, the whole logo freezes and the word "ICHC" in Helvetica Bold font and red appears below by fading in and floating. The words "HOME VIDEO" fade in after the word "ICHC" stops floating.

FX/SFX: The 1970 Egyptian General Organization for Cinema and Television logo's animation, the text floating and fading.

Music/Sounds: Same as the Egyptian General Organization for Cinema and Television logo.

Availability: Can be seen on a few VHS and DVD releases of ICHC.

Editor's Note: The stolen animation from the Egyptian General Organization logo may cause some chuckles or laughs.

5th Logo (1999-2004)[]

Nicknames: "Another Ripoff", "Happycat and the Bow and Arrow", "The Safari Sinar Sakti Film Ripoff!"

Logo: The 1975 Safari Sinar Sakti Film logo plays as usual while it zooms in on a black background, but the human is replaced by Happycat, and when he shoots his arrow with a bow, the logo freezes, causing "ICHC" to appear by jumping. The words "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" fades in and rotates by letter-by-letter. When the words "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" stops rotating by letter-by-letter, "An ICHC Holdings company" appears by letter-by-letter. The logo stands still for a seconds until we fade out.

FX/SFX: A copy of the 1975 Safari Sinar Sakti Film logo's animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 1975 Safari Sinar Sakti Film logo.

Availability: Can be seen on a few VHS and DVD releases of ICHC videos.

Editor's Note: You may laugh at the whole thing because of the extremely blatant animation theft, like the last 2 logos and the next 3 logos.

6th Logo (2004-2008)[]

Nicknames: "SuperVideo Ripoff", "Seizure-Inducing ICHC", "Where's Happycat?"

Logo: Same as the 1983 SuperVideo logo, but "SuperVideo" is replaced by "ICHC Home Entertainment".

FX/SFX: Same as the 1983 SuperVideo logo.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 1983 SuperVideo logo.

Availability: Very common. It was seen on some VHS and DVD releases of some ICHC videos.

Editor's Note: Another laughable animation theft, but it's unknown if SuperVideo sued them or not because the company is from the United States.

7th Logo (2008-2011)[]

Nickname: "The Mandarin Films Rip-Off!"

Logo: Same as the 1992 Mandarin Films logo, but the script "M" is replaced by the ICHC "MGM Ripoff" logo, and when the background fades to white, "ICHC HOME ENTERTAINMENT" fades in above it and "An ICHC Holdings Company" fades in below it.

FX/SFX: Same as the 1992 Mandarin Films logo.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 1992 Mandarin Films logo.

Availability: Uncommon. Can be seen on some releases of some ICHC videos.

Scare Factor: This is yet another laughable animation theft!

8th Logo (2011-2013)[]

Nickname: "Harpo Ripoff"

Logo: On a white background, we see Happycat, pulling a wagon that reads "ICHC", (in the Arial Rounded MT Bold font) in green, while under "ICHC", on the wagon's outer base, reads "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" (set in Times New Roman Bold font). The wagon then bumps into Happycat, who gets surprised. There is an Argosy Media byline at the bottom on 2012-2013 releases.

FX/SFX: Happycat's movements and the letters bumping into him.

Music/Sounds: A brilliant use of the 1st Harpo Studios logo

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • Sometimes, it's silent.
  • The last few notes would be repeated when some releases would have this logo fading-in to the Argosy Media logo. This is probably an error.

Availability: Common, can be seen on some DVD releases of ICHC videos.

Editor's Note: The logo may give you laughs due to being a ripoff of the Harpo Studios logo.

9th Logo (2013-)[]

Nicknames: "The Combination of ICHC and BBC Video", "The Blatant Use of The 1980 BBC Video Fanfare", "What The Heck?!"

Logo: On a starfield background, the outlined version of "ICHC" (in Impact font) comes out of nowhere, accompanied by these trails. Then, the letters "ICHC" now filled in white with orange shadow appear by letter-by-letter rotating in whirlwind. The letters "ICHC" stop rotating in whirlwind, causing "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" (same font as "ICHC") to fade in. The starfield keeps zooming until the logo fades out.

Variant:

  • Starting in 2017, the byline "An Argosy Media/Entertainment One Company" fades in below "Home Entertainment' after the logo is formed.

FX/SFX: Everything, the logo is produced with outdated effects and Scanimate animation.

Music/Sounds: A big marching band-type tune which does not suit this logo at all.

Music/Sounds Variant: On some videos starting in 2015, the logo uses a bouncy Moog synthesized theme that ends with drawn-out synth notes and a 3-note synth-horn fanfare. A "whoosh" is also used to mark the appearance of the "ICHC". This is the one you are most likely to find.

Availability: Current. Can be seen on some ICHC releases.

Editor's Note: The cheesy animation, darkness, and the music may be slightly creepy for some, and the whoosh in the 2015 version may surprise some, but it's a favorite of many. However, you must laugh at the brilliant music theft.
