==1977-1982==
Background: ICHC Pictures was a movie company making movies, and also distributes prints from various movie companies throughout the country. It was founded in 1912 and was headquartered in Catrock, Kittenolivia. Their name didn't appear on-screen until 1981 when they released the movie "B.O.O.M.". They did not have a logo until 1984, when they released the movie, Sara. In 2006, they now started to make their own TV shows. During the early days of VHS, a limited number of MTM Pictures movies listed ICHC Home Video to be its distributor. The sales had turned out very well, and all statistics were popular for MTM and ICHC. It had gotten up to the point that the company asked one of its soul companies, MTM Enterprises to be its distributor. Starting in 2012, most of their movies and TV shows were distributed via Argosy Media.

Logo: On a black background, a blue outlined Happycat head zooms out via light trailing effects, followed by a fully-colored but simplified Happycat head and a normal Happycat head, forming ICHC's logo. A few seconds later, the logo disappears, and the text "ICHC PICTURES CORP." in blue Helvetica Bold font zooms out, turning the background yellow. "presents" flashes in below. The words remain on screen several seconds.

FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: The zooming and light effects.
In late 1979, the producer of Sara, David Gorine, created the famous lolcat character that ICHC Pictures used from the 80s, the 90s, half of the 2010's, and 2013 to New Years' Eve 2016, and served as mascot officially in 1989. Gorine named the character Happycat. The character was voiced by David Gorine in pre-1999, then Louis Beckler in 1990-2003, and finally, Mike Brandon in 2003 to New Years' Eve 2016. Anyways, on April 23, 2012, CBS wanted to put their shows on ICHC networks, which ICHC accepted to do. CBS has a joint venture with ITV plc, that produces all ITV shows. ITV plc also allows ICHC to show ITV shows on the ICHC Network. But, as of April 2, 2016, PiC bought ICHC after Argosy agreed to the company to sell ICHC for US$5,000,000 after Argosy was threatened to be bought out by BSkyB. However, In 2017, PiC was bought and folded into Entertainment One, however, ICHC Network still exists as a major Kittenolivian television network and as a cable network in Canada, the US, and the UK. But in 2018, Argosy repurchased ICHC, eventually bringing back Argosy to when it was in 2016 by making an agreement with EOne that ICHC would be a joint venture between the two large companies.

Music/Sounds: A loud trumpet fanfare, which probably came from a track library since it's used in some other logos.
Happycat even has his own show called The Lolcat Show, on The ICHC Network. The show was canceled on September 14, 2016. Although a new show with redesigned characters called Lolcat Adventures started airing on November 25, 2016. The character is no longer their mascot and will not appear in any of their logos as of January 1, 2017.

Availability: Rare. Seen on Kittenolivian prints of films from the era. It is sometimes plastered by the 1991 logo, or those of other companies on newer prints, such as Entertainment One. Also appears on KV theatrical trailers from the era.
The cute little ditty from logo 4 is so popular that it's used in logos after logo 4. It is known as "Happycat's Ditty". The ditty disappeared on the night of December 31, 2016.

  +
Scare Factor: Medium; some may get scared by the loud fanfare coming on all of a sudden, as well as the light effects.
This company is founded in 1991, and Happycat has been ICHC Pictures' official mascots from 1994 until 2016.

==1982-1986==
On January 1, 2017, ICHC Pictures will be celebrating a special 105th-anniversary with a new logo. In 2018, ICHC Pictures purchased the pre-1993 Orion library.

  +
Nickname: "WHOOSH Happycat (of Doom)"

  +
Logo: On a white screen, the Happycat head zooms-out from the center. As the camera zooms out, the word "ICHC" emerges from the front, and both plaster themselves into place. The text "PICTURES CORP." slides in from the ICHC name, as the background fades to black. Afterwards, the copyright stamp (in very small type here) fades onto the bottom of the screen. The finished logo then cuts to black.
1st Logo

(1981-1984)

Nickname: "The In-credit Logo", "The Boring ICHC Logo", "Where's Happycat?"

Logo: This is not a logo, just an in-credit text, reading:

MTM ENTERPRISES

AND

ICHC PICTURES

PRESENT

for the start of movies, and

A

ICHC/MTM

PICTURE

© (year, in roman numerals)

for the end of movies.

FX/SFX: None.

Cheesy Factor: Could they at least put more effort into this one?

Music/Sounds: The opening of the movie, or none.

Availability: This might be very rare to find, but it's scarce for most sources. The movie "B.O.O.M.", the first movie to use this logo, was plastered by the 2006 logo on reruns and the DVD release.

Scare Factor: None. It's harmless. You just don't like it like this.

Of course, that's nothing compared to the next logo...

2nd Logo

(1984-2000)

Nicknames: "Happycat", "MGM Ripoff"

Logo: We see, on a black background, the MGM ribbons, but with Leo replaced with Happycat, with ICHC PICTURES above, and a byline below.

  +
Trivia: This logo would become the basis of the 1983 ICHC Television logo.

Bylines:

Bylines:
  +
*1982-1983: "AN ICHC COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY" and the copyright stamp replacing the byline a second later.
  +
*1983-1985: (Bylineless; just the copyright stamp appearing in)
  +
*1985-1986: "A UNIT OF ICHC HOLDINGS INC." (with the copyright stamp below the byline)

  +
Variants: There is a filmed variation of this logo.
(1984-1994) A Division of PepsiCo Inc.

(1994-1996) A MTM Company

(1996-2000) An International Family Entertainment Company

Variants:

*On television programs, "PICTURES" is replaced by "TELEVISION".

*There is an alternate version where the logo is off-center and the text is in a different font.

FX/SX: This is a still logo.

Music/Sound Effects: The MGM lion's roar.

Music/Sounds Variant: On The Lolcat Movie, it's silent.

Availability: You may think it's common, but it's actually extremely rare. The last movie you possibly know that has this logo is Sara. It can also be seen on the "ICHC Retro" channel but, expect the Argosy Media logo before it.

Scare Factor: Minimal, due to the roar.

3rd Logo

(1997-2014)

Nickname: "Happycat II"

Logo: A still variant of the 2nd logo, but the text is moved to below the ribbons and is in white.

Trivia: This logo was made coinciding with the start of ICHC's TV distribution, even though they haven't already made shows yet.

Bylines:

(1997-2006) An International Family Entertainment Company

(2006-2012) An ICHC Holdings Company

(2012-2014) An Argosy Media Company

Music/Sound Effects: Silent or the end theme of the show.

Availability: Extremely rare. Seen on the ICHC original premieres of "Camp Dubziz", "Road Rash", "The Sara Show", and "Uh-Oh!". two days after this logo made its debut. Also seen on shows distributed by the company. It can also be seen on the "ICHC Retro" channel but, just like the last logo, expect the Argosy Media logo before it.

Scare Factor: Same as logo 1.

4th Logo

(2000-2003)

Nickname: "Demotivational Happycat"

Logo: On a black background, we see a white outlined square, with a picture of Happycat standing on a sidewalk outside a brick building inside it, with ICHC PICTURES below it.

Variants:

*Starting in 2001, there is a byline reading "A ICHC HOLDINGS COMPANY".

*On That Sinking Feeling, the logo has a photo negative effect. This was quickly plastered by logo 10 on reruns and the re-release of the movie. The original DVD has this logo intact with the byline reading "AN ARGOSY MEDIA COMPANY". What a shame.

Music/Sound Effects: Silent. May have the opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Has rare written all over it. Expect this with closing music. It can also be seen on the "ICHC Retro" channel but... you know, I think you've already gotten the point. No need to say this anymore.

Scare Factor: None.

5th Logo

(late 2000/early 2001-2003)

Nicknames: "Argosy Media Ripoff"

Logo: On a white background, we see Happycat. On one side of him is a Kittenolivian flag; on the other side is a flag saying "ICHC PICTURES". There is an ICHC Holdings byline below.

Variants:

*On adult movies, the characters are "Zalgofied". The text is also Zalgofied.

*On Lolcat Minigame Central for Nintendo GameCube, the "PICTURES' is removed from the flag. The title music plays.

*On Lolcat Camping Trip, the logo has a film negative effect.

Music/Sounds: Ending theme or a cute little ditty. (a.k.a. Happycat's Ditty)

Availability: Common. Can be seen on shows from the era.

Scare Factor: Medium for the normal versions. Nightmare for the Zalgofied one. Luckily, this version has been plastered by the next logo.

6th Logo

(2003-2006, 2013-2015)

Nicknames: "Where's Happycat? II", "ICHC Filmreel"

Logo; On a starry sky background, we see a filmreel, flying downward. Then it shifts to the pink film inside it, which becomes flat. It then zooms-out, and the film reads PICTURES. Then ICHC, colored raspberry pink, appears over the filmreel.

Variant:

*On TV shows, a silver rectangle with the words TELEVISION appears under the filmreel that reads PICTURES and shines.

*Starting in 2004, the ICHC Holdings byline appeared at the bottom of the logo.

*There is a very rare version in movies from 2013-15, where the logo is still, the logo is tiny, and PICTURES is replaced with the Argosy byline.

Music/Sound Effects: Starts with somes tinkles and a whoosh as the filmreel shifts downward, then a synth-orchestra tune that sounds like something from the Universal Studios. On the television variation, an additional whoosh is heard as the rectangle shines. Sometimes, the logo is silent.

Availability: Same as logos 1 and 3. Also shown on the first episode of The Lolcat Show (2006-2016).

Scare Factor: Medium.

7th Logo

(2006-2010, 2010-2016)

Nicknames: "High Voltage Ripoff"

Logo: We see a black screen. We hear footsteps as the screen reveals Happycat walking to a switch. He struggles and then finally pulls it. We hear sparks as the camera zooms in on his face. Cut to a still shot of the 6th logo. It is shown in darkness until lights come on to reveal it.

Variants:

*On Argosy vs. ICHC Crossover Chaos, Happycat is replaced by Aaron the Cat.

*There is a short version where Happycat walking is taken out. This is usually shown at the end of TV shows.

Music/Sounds: Walking sounds, followed by Happycat's Ditty.

Availability: Common. First seen on Canimals: The Movie. "The Lolcat Show" airs on ICHC Kids, so you can see it. Blocks like Argosy Secret Slumber Party keeps this logo intact. Also seen on 2006-2016 episodes of The Sara Show.

Trivia: This logo recycles animation from the first episode of The Lolcat Show in 2006. But the first episode used the previous logo.

Scare Factor: Same as logo 4.

8th Logo

(2010-2014)

Nicknames: "Zooming ICHC"

Logo: On an black background, we zoom out to see Happycat's head, with the text ICHC PICTURES below

Variants:

*Sometimes, this logo would have the Argosy byline on the bottom.

*On Lolcat Road Trip, the logo is still.

*On El TV Kadsre Co-productions, the text IN ASSOCIATION WITH is seen below the logo.

FX/SFX: The zooming.

Music/Sounds: Happycat's Ditty.

Music/Sounds Variants:

*On one rerun of The Sara Show, the logo has the Argosy Media music due to sloppy editing.

Availability: Common. Can be seen on shows and movies of the era.

Scare Factor: Low.

9th Logo

(September 17 2011-May 17 2013)

''By this time, the ICHC Holdings company had been mostly discontinued when they are bought by Argosy Media, which kept the ICHC PICTURES name.''

Nicknames: "Celebration", "100 Years", "The MGM Ripoff Returns"

Logo: We see a montage of previous ICHC logos. After the montage, we see a yellow eye. The camera zooms out, revealing Happycat, in the classic "MGM Ripoff" logo. The text "Celebrating 100 Years of ICHC Pictures" appears above, and an Argosy byline appears below.

Variants:

*There is a version where the logo montage is gone. One movie is "Sara 3".

*On movies released from September 17 to December 31, 2011, There is a version where the montage and "Celebrating 100 Years of" are gone. Look for this variant on "Lolcats go Wild".

*Sometimes, the logo is still.

*On A Lolcat Christmas, the logo is still. "MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM" replaces "Celebrating 100 Years of" and Happycat is wearing a Santa hat.

FX/SFX: The montage, the zooming, and the text fading.

Music/Sounds: An extended version of Happycat's Ditty during the logo montage, followed by the MGM lion's roar.

Availability: Common for 2012, rare for 2011 and 2013. This logo made its debut in on the "ICHC Kids" channel in 2011, and the "100 Years" variant was beautifully restored on the 2017 DVD and Blu-ray releases of ICHC films from the era, distributed by ICHC Home Entertainment; ironically enough, current reruns of this series aren't so lucky; except for "Happycat's Great Adventure," this logo was plastered with either the El TV Kadsre Television, ITV Studios Global Entertainment, or the later ICHC Pictures logos on reruns. On "ICHC Retro", The Lolcat Show has this logo intact. The rare still version can be seen in Bedroom Antics for season 1, but replaced by the next logo on the DVD release. It was restored on Blu-ray releases though.

Scare Factor: Low.

10th Logo

(May 18, 2013-2014)

Nicknames: "Happycat Head"

Logo: On a black BG, we see Happycat's head. Below the head is the text: "ICHC PICTURES".

Variants:

*VoozClub normally edits out ICHC Pictures logos. "Canimals" keeps this logo intact, except they put in an "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" line below ICHC PICTURES.

*"CELEBRATING OVER 100 YEARS" can be seen above in 2013 movies. Two versions exist, one version has the text in New Courier font, the other version has the text in Helvetica Bold font.

*On Argosy Media programs, Happycat is replaced by Aaron the Cat.

*On the final season of Bedroom Antics, the logo has a rainbow gradient background.

*On direct-to-DVD releases, Happycat is replaced by the DVD logo.

*On reruns of The Sara Show of the era, Aaron the Cat comes in and says to the logo, "Screw you, Happycat! Screw You! My logo is supposed to be here, for god's sake!", then he kicks Happycat, however, he stubs his toe in the process. Aaron jumps off-screen as he holds his foot while howling in pain. The music is Aaron's Ditty.

Music/Sounds: Happycat's Ditty.

Availability: Ultra rare. Can occasionally be seen on PBS and ICHC Network. The rerun Sara Show variant is seen on the infamous "darker and edgier" reboot Aaron's Rampage (2016) but "My logo is supposed to be here, for god's sake!" was taken out, though Aaron's mouth syncs it. Also seen on the final season of Bedroom Antics. The Argosy variant is rare as it is plastered more in the USA and Canada than it is in Kittenolivia. The BA variant is so rare that it was plastered on DVD and VHS releases by the next logo. This logo was used in tandem with the next logo until its retirement.

Scare Factor: None. Low for The Sara Show variant.

11th Logo

(June 4 2013-November 25 2015)

''By this time, ICHC Pictures had billions of responses to return Happycat's full body. ICHC Pictures and its employees did. Also, PiC gained control of ICHC Pictures, but Argosy still owned the original films. In 2015, EntertainmentOne owned the company until, in November 2016, The company began to be owned by Argosy again!''

  +
FX/SFX: The zoom out and the lettering layering effects.
Nicknames: "Argosy Media Ripoff II", "Flags With Letters"

  +
Music/Sounds: It starts with a loud, long "whoosh". After the "whoosh" dies down, an 8-note synthesized tune plays, which is actually a pitched down version of Andy Clarke's "Moog Statement 14".
Logo: On a white background, we see a orange flag wave with the letter I on it. Then we see a orange flag wave with the letter C on it. The entire thing keeps going until we zoom out from the last flag to see that the flags have spelled ICHC PICTURES. Happycat walks in. The flags stop waving. The byline "A PiC Company" appears below.

  +
Music/Sounds Variant: There is a quiet (but not silent) version of the music.
Variants:

  +
Availability: Very rare. It's seen on most Kittenolivian releases of material from the Disney and CIC libraries from the era. Much of the back catalog was theatrically rereleased by ICHC in the mid-1990s. This can be found on Netflix Kittenolivia's print of ET. It was also seen at the start of an KTV2 broadcast of the 1985 film The Black Cauldron.
*On "The Funnies" and "Cute Kittens", a Scottish kitten walks in, mutters to himself, then jumps on Happycat until both of them are too weak to move. He then looks at us and meows then says "No more Happycat! Just end the show!". On The Funnies episode "The $1,000,000 Pet Shop" and the Cute Kittens episode "Bouncy Fun/Cats and Dogs", (both shows' pilots) after "Just end the show!" he says "Poor Happycat...". As he says that, Happycat gets back up, and after the cat says "Poor Happycat...", Happycat runs and yells, "NO!" and crashes into the camera, smashing the screen. Then he falls off, and we see whatever logo would appear at the end.

*Starting in April 2015, "A Division of PiC, A EntertainmentOne Company" appears instead, due to EOne owning PiC.

*A shorter version of the logo exists.

  +
Scare Factor: Depending on the variant:
Music/Sounds: Two drumbeats, then a trumpet fanfare, then Happycat's Ditty.

  +
*Original Version: Medium to high. The loud whoosh, combined with the animation, eerie synth, and the dark text may scare some people. The scare factor is lower for those who are used to it.
  +
*Quiet Variant: Low to medium.

  +
==1986-1991==
Availability: Common. Can be seen on ICHC-produced films and shows of the era. Can also be seen on reruns of older ICHC series on the ICHC Network.

  +
Nicknames: "The Blue Laser", "Soothing Synth"

  +
Logo: On a black background, a blue laser slowly travels upward from the bottom-center of the screen in a straight line up to the top. Multiple blue lines start appearing, with some coming from the left of the laser and some coming from the right, which eventually reveal the Happycat head. The white text "ICHC PICTURES" appears below.
Scare Factor: Low.

  +
FX/SFX: The laser drawing, the lines moving, and "ICHC PICTURES" appearing.

  +
Cheesy Factor: Well, the logo itself is fine, but "ICHC PICTURES" suddenly appearing is pretty much cheesy. 1980s effects, by the way.
12th Logo

  +
Music/Sounds: A synthesized "wah" sound rising up slowly in pitch and a 6-note trumpet tune and a synthesized drumbeat, followed by some synthesized ding notes and another trumpet, and a longer horn tune with 4 timpani beats.
(November 26 2015-December 30 2016)

  +
Availability: Seeing as this company is Kittenolivian, this might be available on Kittenolivian prints of films distributed by the company, like maybe some PAL tapes of films during the time this logo was used.
''By this time, EOne was beginning to try to protect ICHC from a buyout from El TV Kadsre. EOne won, but they had to gain thousands of dollars/pounds to save it from ETVK's buyout. Argosy (which had recently avoided a hostile takeover by British Sky Broadcasting) made an agreement with EOne that ICHC would be a joint venture between the two companies.''

  +
Scare Factor: Low; the darkness of the logo, text appearing below suddenly, and sudden change of the music may spook some, but the logo is a favorite of many.
Nicknames: "Happycat Holding the Kittenolivian Flag"

  +
==1991-1997, 1999-2012==
  +
Nickname: "Vector Happycat"

  +
Logo: First, the words "KITTENOLIVIA'S LARGEST FILM COMPANY" are shown, then the text transitions to a black screen with four parallel red and blue lines. Then two of the lines start to glow and shift, and then there are two parallel lines. Two "sparkles" move into the lines and disappear into the distance and flash, creating a blue outline of the ICHC logo, which is a smiling cat head with the text "ICHC PICTURES" below in Helvetica Bold font. The logo zooms forward as some light rays shine from it and "attract" a colored version of the logo (with white text and a gray-furred cat with a red mouth, white teeth, and yellow eyes). Finally, the ICHC logo is created and the lines start to fade away. The logo glows blue and shines.
Logo: On a plain white BG, Happycat walks in, and takes a large toolbox in. He opens it, digs through, and holds up a large Kittenolivian flag. "An Entertainment One Company" fades in below.

  +
FX/SFX: All the animation in the logo; not too bad for 1991.
Variants: On Apocalypse Massacre, Happycat is holding a chainsaw instead of the flag.

  +
Music/Sounds: A gradually rising new wave theme, with a bassline similar to Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "Relax".
FX: Happycat's animation.

  +
Availability: Common; available on ICHC releases of the era.
Music: Happycat's Ditty. In the short version, it's just the last four notes.

  +
Scare Factor: Minimal; it may surprise you the first time you see it, but this is a favorite among many Kittenolivians.
Availability: Common. Seen on all ICHC shows of the era. Mostly on the BBC shows P.S. 3538 and Sticks n' Stones. Also shown on episodes of The Lolcat Show.

  +
==1997-1999==
Scare Factor: Same as logos 6-9.

  +
Logo: On a space background, there is the moon in the up-right corner, and the sun in the up-left corner, with white clouds in the bottom-left corner. Then the camera pans to an unknown white planet, where the clouds come from. The camera pans to the planet, until the screen turns completely white from the clouds, then the black text "ICHC PICTURES" in Gill Sans Regular font, with the small text "A Carlton Communications Company" in the same colored font below, fades in, and zooms to us, then stops.

  +
Variant: A color-inverted still version also exists.

  +
FX/SFX: The panning, the zooming, and the text appearing.
13th Logo

  +
Music/Sounds: A dreamy, space tune which then becomes a fanfare.
(December 31, 2016)

  +
Availability: Common. Seen when you play Kittenolivian DVDs of films from the late 90s. The color-inverted still version appeared at the end of films.
Logo: On a black background, we see the "MGM Ripoff" logo. Then the words "ICHC PICTURES" fade in above, and the Argosy/EOne byline fades in below.

  +
Scare Factor: Low. This is a favorite of many, and the animation is excellent. Some people may be surprised by the lack of Happycat, however.
FX/SFX: The text fading in.

  +
==2012-==
Music/Sounds: Happycat's Ditty.

  +
Nicknames: "Vector Happycat II", "Retraux Happycat"

  +
Logo: A modern update to the 1991 logo, but with a bit more action. As with the 1991 logo, this one begins with "KITTENOLIVIA'S LARGEST FILM COMPANY" on a black screen. A white line goes through the middle of the background, and very brief flashes of the blue and red vector pattern in the previous logo can be seen. This white line becomes one of several that form a bright star. The camera pans over to the left, and the star collides with another star. As this happens, the parallel blue and red lines, as seen in the 1991 logo, are visibly moving in the background. After the stars' collision, a CGI Happycat head and white "ICHC PICTURES" move up into the center of the screen. A blue glow forms around the newly formed logo and the parallel lines in the background fade out.
Availability: Ultra rare. Only seen on A Lolcat New Year.

  +
FX/SFX: Similar to the 1991 logo, but updated for the modern era.
Scare Factor: Low.

  +
Music/Sounds: A re-done version of the 1991 logo's music, done in a more electro-disco style.

  +
Availabilty: Current. Seen on some recent releases from the company.
14th Logo:

  +
Scare Factor: Minimal; it might surprise you, and the sudden choir may put some off, but it's a cool reimagining of the company's 1991 logo.
(January 1, 2017-)

  +
==2015- (international only)==
Logo: On a black background, we see the "MGM Ripoff" logo fade in, then a light blue "ICHC PICTURES" flys in. Then, a yellow EOne/Argosy byline drops down.

  +
Nickname: "ICHC From Underwater"

  +
Logo: Underwater, we see blue and gray rays shining and water rippling. We see bubbles rise up and fly freely. We pan up and zoom in (with some visible water spots) to reveal the full setting to be a forest at sunrise: there are pine (and other type of) trees with a few houses in front with grass and other trees and mountains in the background. We see gray haze (explaining the gray rays) swiveling through all this on the right, and the camera tilts a bit so the sun stays shining on the horizon. On the sky, we see a flock of birds flying north (The sun rises in the east). The haze now shows up to the right and moves like the filmstrips in the 1997 Medusa logo. The haze forms the CGI Happycat from the 2012 logo and also "ICHC PICTURES" below. The haze disappears and the logo shines.
Variant: On this logo's first year, the words "105TH ANNIVERSARY" in red appears above the logo.

Scare Factor: None. But Happycat is no longer ICHC Pictures' mascot as of January 1, 2017, so why is he here?

1977-1982[]

Logo: On a black background, a blue outlined Happycat head zooms out via light trailing effects, followed by a fully-colored but simplified Happycat head and a normal Happycat head, forming ICHC's logo. A few seconds later, the logo disappears, and the text "ICHC PICTURES CORP." in blue Helvetica Bold font zooms out, turning the background yellow. "presents" flashes in below. The words remain on screen several seconds.

FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: The zooming and light effects.

Music/Sounds: A loud trumpet fanfare, which probably came from a track library since it's used in some other logos.

Availability: Rare. Seen on Kittenolivian prints of films from the era. It is sometimes plastered by the 1991 logo, or those of other companies on newer prints, such as Entertainment One. Also appears on KV theatrical trailers from the era.

Scare Factor: Medium; some may get scared by the loud fanfare coming on all of a sudden, as well as the light effects.

1982-1986[]

Nickname: "WHOOSH Happycat (of Doom)"

Logo: On a white screen, the Happycat head zooms-out from the center. As the camera zooms out, the word "ICHC" emerges from the front, and both plaster themselves into place. The text "PICTURES CORP." slides in from the ICHC name, as the background fades to black. Afterwards, the copyright stamp (in very small type here) fades onto the bottom of the screen. The finished logo then cuts to black.

Trivia: This logo would become the basis of the 1983 ICHC Television logo.

Bylines:

  • 1982-1983: "AN ICHC COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY" and the copyright stamp replacing the byline a second later.
  • 1983-1985: (Bylineless; just the copyright stamp appearing in)
  • 1985-1986: "A UNIT OF ICHC HOLDINGS INC." (with the copyright stamp below the byline)

Variants: There is a filmed variation of this logo.

FX/SFX: The zoom out and the lettering layering effects.

Music/Sounds: It starts with a loud, long "whoosh". After the "whoosh" dies down, an 8-note synthesized tune plays, which is actually a pitched down version of Andy Clarke's "Moog Statement 14".

Music/Sounds Variant: There is a quiet (but not silent) version of the music.

Scare Factor: Depending on the variant:

  • Original Version: Medium to high. The loud whoosh, combined with the animation, eerie synth, and the dark text may scare some people. The scare factor is lower for those who are used to it.
  • Quiet Variant: Low to medium.

1986-1991[]

Nicknames: "The Blue Laser", "Soothing Synth"

Logo: On a black background, a blue laser slowly travels upward from the bottom-center of the screen in a straight line up to the top. Multiple blue lines start appearing, with some coming from the left of the laser and some coming from the right, which eventually reveal the Happycat head. The white text "ICHC PICTURES" appears below.

FX/SFX: The laser drawing, the lines moving, and "ICHC PICTURES" appearing.

Cheesy Factor: Well, the logo itself is fine, but "ICHC PICTURES" suddenly appearing is pretty much cheesy. 1980s effects, by the way.

Music/Sounds: A synthesized "wah" sound rising up slowly in pitch and a 6-note trumpet tune and a synthesized drumbeat, followed by some synthesized ding notes and another trumpet, and a longer horn tune with 4 timpani beats.

Availability: Seeing as this company is Kittenolivian, this might be available on Kittenolivian prints of films distributed by the company, like maybe some PAL tapes of films during the time this logo was used.

Scare Factor: Low; the darkness of the logo, text appearing below suddenly, and sudden change of the music may spook some, but the logo is a favorite of many.

1991-1997, 1999-2012[]

Nickname: "Vector Happycat"

FX/SFX: All the animation in the logo; not too bad for 1991.

Music/Sounds: A gradually rising new wave theme, with a bassline similar to Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "Relax".

Availability: Common; available on ICHC releases of the era.

Scare Factor: Minimal; it may surprise you the first time you see it, but this is a favorite among many Kittenolivians.

1997-1999[]

Logo: On a space background, there is the moon in the up-right corner, and the sun in the up-left corner, with white clouds in the bottom-left corner. Then the camera pans to an unknown white planet, where the clouds come from. The camera pans to the planet, until the screen turns completely white from the clouds, then the black text "ICHC PICTURES" in Gill Sans Regular font, with the small text "A Carlton Communications Company" in the same colored font below, fades in, and zooms to us, then stops.

Variant: A color-inverted still version also exists.

FX/SFX: The panning, the zooming, and the text appearing.

Music/Sounds: A dreamy, space tune which then becomes a fanfare.

Availability: Common. Seen when you play Kittenolivian DVDs of films from the late 90s. The color-inverted still version appeared at the end of films.

Scare Factor: Low. This is a favorite of many, and the animation is excellent. Some people may be surprised by the lack of Happycat, however.

2012-[]

Nicknames: "Vector Happycat II", "Retraux Happycat"

FX/SFX: Similar to the 1991 logo, but updated for the modern era.

Music/Sounds: A re-done version of the 1991 logo's music, done in a more electro-disco style.

Availabilty: Current. Seen on some recent releases from the company.

Scare Factor: Minimal; it might surprise you, and the sudden choir may put some off, but it's a cool reimagining of the company's 1991 logo.

2015- (international only)[]

Nickname: "ICHC From Underwater"

FX/SFX: Mind-blowing CGI!

Music/Sounds: We hear strings and 15 mallet notes, then we hear a reorchestration of the 1986 music.

Availability: Current, outside of Kittenolivia. Can be seen on the company's exported productions.

Scare Factor: None. It's an amazing logo.
