Background: KBC One is the main broadcaster of Katnev. It was founded as Katnev's radio broadcaster in 1937, but wasn't a TV broadcaster until 1958.

KBC TV

1st Logo

(1958-1960)

Nickname: "The Tower"

Logo: We see a tower with thunderbolts coming out. The words K.B.C. TV are on top.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: An announcer saying "This is KBC TV."

Availability: Extinct.

2nd Logo

(1960-1962)

Nickname: "The Diamonds"

Logo: We see a map of Katnev with the letters K, B, and C, encased in diamond shapes, in front of the map.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 1st logo.

3rd Logo

(1962-1964)

Nickname: "The Diamonds II", "The Diamonds of Doom"

Logo: We see three diamonds forming. They then flip over and the letters KBC appear in them.

FX/SFX: The diamonds forming and flipping, the letters appearing.

Music/Sounds: A loud and bombastic fanfare, then an announcer.

Availability: Extinct.

Editors note: This is known for scaring some people with its loud music and in-your-face animation.

4th Logo

(1964-1974)

Nickname: "The Diamonds III", "KBC in Colour"

Logo: On a black background, we see the three diamonds zooming in, one red, one blue, and one green. They flip one by one, each revealing their respective letters, and then "IN COLOUR" wipes in.

FX/SFX: The diamonds zooming and flipping, the words appearing.

Music/sounds: A fanfare that sounds like the TVS 1982 theme, then an announcer.

Availability: Extinct.

Editors note: This is a favourite of many Katnevians. It's also less scarier than the last logo.

KBC1

5th Logo

(1974-1985)

Nickname: "The Diamonds IV"

Logo: On a black background, we see two KBC logos (without the letters) merging. The letters KBC1 (KBC in the diamonds and the 1 outside the diamonds) wipes in.

FX/SFX: Scanimate effects.

Music/sounds: A three-note fanfare, followed by seven drumbeats, then an announcer.

Availability: Extinct.

Editors note: Same as the last logo, this is a favourite for many Katnevians.

6th Logo

(1985-1988)

Nickname: "The Diamonds V", "CGI Diamonds"

Logo: Depends on the ident, there is a CGI animation resulting in the diamonds (without the letters in them) and KBC 1 on the bottom.

Variants:

  • We pan through a floor made of tiles, the floor then collapses except for three tiles arranged diagonally, the camera then turns 45 degrees so they are arranged like the diamonds, and the words "KBC 1" fly in.

FX/SFX: Early CGI.

Music/sounds: Depends on the variant, each having a four note theme.

Availability: Extinct.

Editors note: This marked the first time KBC used 3D CGI in their idents.

7th Logo

Nickname: "The Diamonds VI", "Textures of Katnev", "Glass Diamonds"

Logo: We see a glass KBC logo turning upwards against a background split into thirds that contains one of various image styles relating to Katnevian heritage. The number "1" is at the bottom.

Variants:

  • Feathers: We see white feathers in a row moving from left to right on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a pine cone.
  • Handrail: We see a handrail going down on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a shadow walk past the handrail.
  • Ashes: We see wood on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see fire spreading among some ashes.
  • Motor Boat: We see waves of water on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a hand pulling a motor.
  • Afternoon Tea: We see a door closing on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a hand pouring a pot of tea into an unseen tea cup.
  • Leaves: We see leaves dangling from a tree moving slightly on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see leaves from a plant.
  • Snake Skin: We see a wooden fence with raindrops falling on it on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see black snake skin with yellow spots.
  • Outback Train: We see some white marble on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a train quickly zooming past us, leaving only the sky in view.
  • Present Surprise: We See A Present With Confetti Flying Everywhere.
  • Transistor Radio: We see a ceiling fan spinning on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle, we see a hand operating an transistor radio.
  • Skyscrapers: We see marble moving with left to right on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a view of skyscrapers.
  • Marbles: We See Marbles Moving.
  • Flowers In A Pot: We See Flowers In A Pot.
  • Flowers: We see an artistic image of flowers on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see flowers with dew falling from them.
  • Baby: We see a white baby shirt hanging on a clothes line on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a baby's hand on it's cot.
  • Ballet: We see images of ballet clothing on the top and bottom rows moving from left to right, and in the middle row, we see a hand tying ballet shoes.
  • Tide: We see some rocks on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a tide come crashing down.
  • Camping Night: We See A Tent At Night With Some Logs.
  • Didgeridoo: We see black trees at sunset on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a man playing a didgeridoo.
  • Jazz: We see a wall on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a man playing a saxophone.
  • Tree: We See A Tree With Leaves.
  • Nighttime: We See A Moon With Clouds.
  • Beach: We see water moving on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see sand dunes.
  • Bush Windmill: We see wood on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a bush windmill operate.
  • Gold Panning: We see rocks in a pot of water on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a hand panning for gold in a water filled pot.
  • Pottery: We see images of art materials move from the left to the right on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a hand making pottery.
  • Cave Painting: We see the walls of cave on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see an aboriginal cave painting of people holding hands.
  • Clocks: We See 12 Clocks On A Wall.
  • Baseball Season: We See Many Baseballs Bouncing.
  • Matches: We See A Pile Of Matches.
  • Reflection: We see some sort of handles on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a reflection of a pier rippling.
  • Sand: We see waves washing over sand on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see rocks.
  • Rodeo: We see some leaves on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see some boots on a fence.
  • Cattle Drive: We see cattle run past a fence on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a man holding his belt.
  • Seashells: We see moving images of various colored seashells on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a still image of a palm tree.
  • Desert: We see sand on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see some unknown image.
  • Outback: We see sand and a lizard walking on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see bark.
  • Swing: We see ground on the top and bottom rows, and the middle row, we see a swing moving.
  • Bush Tea: We see wood with stuff on it on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a hand holding a cup of tea with steam coming out of it.
  • Boiling Water: We see a grey forest with smoke on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a boiling pot of water.
  • Cattle Truck: We see a moving image of a cattle truck on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a hand on a black rail.
  • Special: We see a marble-like texture on the top and bottom rows, and in the middle row, we see a crystal-like lake effect. Once the KBC logo flips in, the lake effect fades away, leaving the middle with the same marble texture as the top and bottom rows. The word "SPECIAL" (with the same glass effect) then zooms out from the center of the screen as the KBC logo fades out. Depending on the variant, either the background fades out (with the word "SPECIAL" remaining on a black background), or the word fades out with the background.

FX/SFX: The images and logo turning upward. Great CGI.

Music/sounds: It normally used an gentle uplifting fanfare with a horn section, ending with six synth bell/choir notes, and would be remixed depending on the variant. Other sounds relating to the imagery would be used, as well (The normal jingle was heard on the Leaves, Cave Painting, Snake Skin, River, Rainforest, Tide, Ashes, Desert Flower, Desert, Seashells, Skyscrapers, Sand and Cave idents with the sounds intact).

Availability: Extinct. However, this was brought back for a day as part of KBC One's 50th anniversary in 2008.

8th Logo

(1992-1996)

Nickname: "The Diamonds VII", "Textures of Katnev II", "Glass 1"

Logo: Same as before, except the diamonds are replaced with a "1", and the CGI is improved. The KBC logo is on the bottom.

FX/SFX: Same as before.

Music/sounds: Same as before.

Availability: Extinct.

9th Logo

(1996-2003)

Nickname: "The Diamonds VIII", "Your own KBC"

Logo: We see people in their daily lives, they tap the screen to make the KBC Diamonds with "kbc1" below it in lowercase. In August 1999, the URL "www.kbc.co.kn" fades in shortly after the text appears.

Trivia: This was made by the design agency T&M Creative (Now known as BrandFactory).

FX/SFX: The people tapping the screen.

Music/sounds: Depending on the ident, but they all have a four note theme (different from the 1985 logo).

Availability: Extinct.

10th Logo

Nickname: "Big 1", "No diamonds"

Logo: We see everyday scenarios with a giant "1" made of glass. The new KBC1 logo (a 3d rectangle with two rounded corners, split in the middle, half of it is white with the lowercase letters "kbc" and the other side red with the number "1", all of the text set in the gill sans bold font and has a shine) fades in after a few seconds.

Trivia: This was made by T&M Creative, the same people who made the previous set of idents.

Variants: The idents were filmed at various locations across Katnev:

  • The 1 at the summit of a mountain.
  • The 1 being carried by a ship.
  • The 1 in a coffee shop.
  • The 1 at a mall.
  • The 1 in a school hallway.
  • The 1 in the center of Katnev City.

FX/SFX: It's all live action.

Music/sounds: Sounds that go with the scenes, with a guitar version of the four-note theme at the start.

Availability: No longer current.

Logo: In each variant various people are seen grabbing and looking around a KBC One logo on different places. One of them puts the logo on the center, and it flashes.

(2009-2017)

Logo: We see a scenario with certain things painted red, and the camera pans around. At a certain angle, the red objects form a "1", and the KBC One logo fades in at the bottom right corner.

FX/SFX: Live action done by Katnevian design agency A6.

Availability: No longer current.

13th Logo

Logo:A red "1" fades in and spins a bit over a video of Katnevian landscape.
