Background[]

LLBC Films is the film division of LLBC, founded in 1953, producing theatrical and made-for-TV films, they later began making direct-to-video films in 1979. In 1992, LLBC Films moved their operational headquarters to Celfix, as part of a major overhaul of LLBC's operations.

1st Logo (1953-1966)[]

Logo: On a white background, we see a bunch of film canisters placed around the edges. The text "LLBC" in it's corporate font appears in the middle.

FX/SFX: A still graphic.

Music/Sounds: An excerpt of "Leichte Kavallerie: Ouverture" by Franz von Suppé.

Availability: Seen on theatrical and made-for-TV films produced or distributed by the company during the period.

Editor's Note: This is the first known logo in the Laotianlands to use a classical music piece.

2nd Logo (1966-1975)[]

Logo: On a black background, a white rectangle zooms in and fills the screen, we then see 2 blue bars wipe in from the top and bottom, the text "LLBC" in it's corporate font then appears letter-by-letter.

FX/SFX: Cel animation.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant fanfare. Sometimes it's silent or has the opening theme.

Availability: Seen on theatrical and made-for-TV films produced or distributed by the company during the period.

Editor's Note: LLBC would use renditions of this fanfare on the idents for LLBC 1 and LLBC 2 at the time.

3rd Logo (1975-1985)[]

Logo: On a black background, we see a bunch of multi-coloured squares appear colour-by-colour, the text "LLBC", again in it's corporate font, zooms in, the text "films" in the same font then appears below it.

FX/SFX: Cel animation.

Music/Sounds: "Scenesetter (2)" by Neil Richardson from the KPM library.

4th Logo (1985-2002)[]

Logo: On a black background, we see 4 stars - one red, one sky blue, one blue and one white zoom in and out from the edges of the screen, eventually coming together to make one white star, the black background then fades away to reveal the LLBC corporate logo with "films" next to it and the byline "a division of the Laotianlandian Broadcasting Company".

FX/SFX: Cel animation.

Music/Sounds: An ascending conjoint of notes, followed by a synth fanfare which gets louder with a flute solo at the beginning, following a loud ending.

Availability: Seen on theatrical, made-for-TV and direct-to-video films produced or distributed by the company during the period.

Editor's Note: This is one of the longest-used on-screen logos in the Laotianlands.
