1st Logo (Early 1980's)
Logo: On a background consisting of red/blue diamonds with white and black splotches on them arranged in an uneven pattern, we see the word"maxhollywood" (in a white retro font with the dot on the "i" replaced with a star) zoom in and stop in the middle.
FX/SFX: The zooming.
Cheesy Factor: This looks very uninspired although it does look more professional than the following logo, but that's not saying much.
Music/Sounds: Same as the 1st CineHollywood logo from Early 1980's.
Availability: Seen on releases from the period.
Scare Factor: None.
2nd Logo
(Mid 1980s)
Nicknames: "The Optical Illusion", "First Time on the Computer" The CineHollywood Parody"
Logo: On a flashing background, various white lines fly at us, then a white 8-pointed star zooms in and morphs into a circle, which explodes. Afterward, on a starry background, while blue chyron blocks fly through the sky, a box with the word "maxhollywood" in the same style as before zooms in rapidly and shines a bit. In a foil tunnel, "maxhollywood" flies away toward the tunnel and fades out. Then, a spiral optical illusion appears and moves, and ten "maxhollywood" boxes fade in two by two in the following arrangement, from smallest to largest: maxhollywood maxhollywood maxhollywood maxhollywood maxhollywood maxhollywood maxhollywood maxhollywood maxhollywood maxhollywood
The background changes, and a white planet flies toward the middle of the screen, which makes the "maxhollywood" boxes disappear from largest to smallest. The planet morphs into another 8-pointed star before the logo fades out.
FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: Everything in the logo is animated, but this is yet another contender for cheesiest logo ever. It appears all the animation was done with Scanimate, an Apple II, or both! The chyron blocks look like glass, and the optical illusions are flashy but cheesy.
Music/Sounds: Same As the 2nd CineHollywood logo from Mid 1980s.
Availability: Seen on old South Mobius tapes, mainly of retro films.
Scare Factor: Low; although the logo is very cheesy, it's not too scary, but the chyron blocks and white planet flying may scare some.
