Background: Nisseki was a Production, Video, and Film company based off the gas stations.
1st logo
(1982-1984,1992)
Logo: On a black background, we see the Nisseki Gas Station logo.
FX/SFX: None, but on VHS releases by Nisseki, the logo fades in and out.
Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the show. However, on VHS tapes released by the company, it's silent.
Availability: TBA
Editor’s Note: None.
2nd Logo
(1986-1992)
Warning: | Do not watch this logo if you are prone to epilepsy. |
Nicknames: "Why would they show this to children?" "Gas station Nightmare" "The Flashing of Nisseki".
Logo: We see some images flashing very fast:
- Some anime clip
- A cat with anime eyes
- A computer monitor
- A burger
- A pizza
- A chicken running VERY fast.
- An Anime fight scene.
- A cute Anime dog
After the images are done flashing, we see a photo of a Nisseki Gas Station. Then we see the Nisseki logo zooming in. The logo stops in the center and the gas station background cycles through the color spectrum before turning to black.
Variants:
- On the VHS and Laserdisc releases of Aqua Dragon, The logo has a blue tint.
- After a program on TV, the logo is faster.
- On some VHS & Laserdisc releases, the logo has a red tint.
FX/SFX: The flashing, the Nisseki logo zooming in, The background cycling through colors, and the background changing to black.
Music/Sounds: The Showtime Feature Presentation tune.
Availability: Seen on some releases during this era.
Editor’s Note: The flashing is pretty scary, but some people find the music really cool, and will make Home Game haters laugh. The logo also has tapes targeted toward children, while this logo is not suitable for them and will likely scare some of them.
Things calm down with the next logo, though.
3rd Logo
(1992-1999)
Nickname: “The Gas Station”
Logo: On a black background, we see the Nisseki logo. Then, we see a CGI model of the Nisseki gas station. We zoom into a sign, and the logo appears on a white background.
FX/SFX: CGI.
Music/Sounds: A majestic fanfare, followed by a Japanese woman saying, “Nisseki!”
Availability: See above.
Editor’s Note: None. This is MUCH tamer than the logo’s predecessor.
Final Note: In early 1999, the company became known as Nisseki Mitsubishi Entertainment.
