Logo: On a white background, we see a red box with a yellow ribbon tied around it. All of a sudden, the top of the box suddenly opens and many P-Pals come out of it. Golden confetti starts falling everywhere and rainbow fireworks appear at the top of the screen. The words "Happy New Year, PBS Kids!" then emerge from the bottom of the screen in a rather neat font.
Variant: Sometimes, "Celebrating 4 Years of PBS Kids" replaces "Happy New Year, PBS Kids!".
FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: Not too bad for 1996, but the confetti looks like something from a Sega Genesis game.
Music/Sounds: A mysterious tune that suddenly changes to a rather loud horn with cheering and noisemaker sounds.
Availability: Extremely rare, as this logo was only used for 1 year. Try finding this on the 1996 VHS of the 1993 Barney and Friends episodes. Strangely, it appeared on the PBS Kids Sprout airing of Barney and Friends.
Scare Factor: Medium to high, this logo may scare you, but it shouldn't do you any harm.
