Logo (October 2, 2004-December 3, 2013)[]
Visuals: On the black background, a white light fades, leaving behind the raccoon sleeping on the blue background, with the text “THE NIGHTTIME” fading in above it. Everything slowly zooms in near the end.
Variant:
- From 2004 to 2009, the raccoon is sleep standing, and the background is seen bigger. The text saying “THE NIGHTTIME” is seen smaller.
- On season 1 of Darcy’s Wild Life and WordWorld, the logo is formed, and is still.
- Starting with post-season 2 episodes of WordWorld, the background can be seen smaller. The raccoon snores for a small second, and freezes after.
- Starting with the second half of Season 1 of The Amazing World of Gumball (proved to be the logo’s final appearance), the text can be seen bigger, and the raccoon’s snoring no longer freezes.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: An electronic synth tune or the ending theme of the show.
Audio Variant: From 2004 to 2009, a racoon snoring noise is added. Plus, the tune is replaced with a relaxing, dreamy synth theme.
Availability: First seen on Darcy’s Wild Life, and it’s also seen on It’s A Big Big World, WordWorld, the Ape Escape cartoon shorts, the first season of SciGirls, and the first two seasons of The Amazing World of Gumball (all produced by Gary).
