1st Logo (1988-1989)[]

Logo: Only a superimposed in-credit disclaimer reading "TRANS-CANADA NETWORK" in a white font, with "TRANS-CANADA" at the top, and "NETWORK" at the bottom.

FX/SFX: None; it's a still in-credit logo.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme.

Availability: Was seen on the short-lived Canadian soap Davidson Hill.

Scare Factor: None.

2nd Logo (1989-1991)[]

Logo: On a black background, we see an orange rectangle with a "TCN" in the left half, and a map of Canada on the right, with some gold lines behind it.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme.

Availability: Seen on shows of the era.

Scare Factor: None.

3rd Logo (1991-1999)[]

Logo: On a black background, a blue circle with "tcn" in a yellow futuristic font and a faded border appears from the right of the screen before rotating and panning out to the center where it stops. "Trans-Canada" and "Network" underneath it fade in below both in yellow.


  • Some shows would have copyright in white replacing the usual text.
  • An in-credit version appeared on some programs.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: A drumbeat and 3-note keyboard.

Availability: Seen on TCN shows during this period.

Scare Factor: None.

4th Logo (1995-1999)[]

Logo: On a black background, the TCN logo turn upwards with three grey rings around it that kind of resembles the atomic symbol before merging into one to become the logo's border. The text is in the same color as the border.

FX/SFX: The turning and the rings.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme.

Availability: This logo was used specifcally on Fake TV in it's early years.

Scare Factor: None.

5th Logo (1999-2000)[]

Logo: On a black background, we see the TCN logo rotating. "TRANS-CANADA NETWORK" appears below by zooming in and below is the URL.

FX/SFX: The rotating.

Music/Sounds: The end theme.

Availability: Seen on TCN shows from the period.

Scare Factor: None.

6th Logo (2000-2001)[]

Logo: On a water background, several blue streaks whiz around to form the TCN logo where only the top right quarter of it is shown while the URL "" flashes in past a couple of times before disappearing until it wipes in from the right.

FX/SFX: The streaks as well as the logo and URL fading in.

Variant: There is a secondary version where the bottom right quarter of the logo is shown.

Cheesy Factor: The full logo should be in view as people would think it says "cn".

Music/Sounds: A bubbling sound, a whoosh and twinkle the streaks make, followed by a 2-note keyboard and finishes with a synthesized female voice echoing "TCN".

Availability: Seen on shows during this era.

Scare Factor: Low. The voice would make some jitter and the streaks along with the flashes would likely give seizures.

7th Logo (2001-2002)[]

Logo: On an out of focus blue background, many streaks dart around to form the TCN logo, which is positioned on the left of screen. The URL fades in to the right of the logo.

FX/SFX: All of the fading, the streaks moving around and the out of focus background.

Music/Sounds: A calm techno ditty.

Availability: Seen on TCN shows produced in this period.

Scare Factor: None.

8th Logo (2002-2007)[]

Logo: On a darkly lit blue background, we see a blue circle with a yellow border and "tcn" in the center, which is TCN's logo. The URL wipes in below. The spotlight moves around a bit.

Variant: One later variant had several light blue squares blinking in and causing the URL, in a different font, to appear below.

FXSFX: The spotlight and the URL wiping in.

Music/Sounds: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on TCN produced shows of the time, such as Roommates.

Scare Factor: None.

9th Logo (2007-)[]

Logo: On a black background, a small blue circle grows at the top of the screen, followed by a yellow one, and another blue one, which appears in a "popping" effect, resulting in a blue circle with a yellow border and "tcn" in the center. The same URL from before is wiped in below.


  • On Carl's World, the show's logo zooms in and turns into the TCN logo.
  • Since 2013, the current version of the TCN logo is used.
  • Around 2014 or 2015, the URL was changed to say "".

FX/SFX: The circle and URL being formed.

Music/Sounds: See logo 6.

Availability: Uncommon. Although it was seen on a lot of TCN-produced shows such as Little Sister Canada and older episodes of Roommates, it does not appear on shows produced by Trimantle Media Canada (like Weight Loss Challenge Canada, Cooking Wars Canada and current episodes of Roommates) as well as Talkin' 'bout Our Generation (produced by Grenade Canada) It can be seen on certain children's shows such as Ruby, Animal Planet and 3LINE, as well as at the end of Cooked TV.
